Great work as always!
BTW the Orca had it's radiator in the rear, hence the big scoop.

Thank You. It's taking up 90% of my free time, but good lord I'm so close. I can't wait to finish this thing.

I'll try to start a thread and post a few pics soon!

Not sure we they had the radiator at the rear, I see many high powered Audi's with rear mounted radiators and I assume it's mostly to get space for a gigantic intercooler.

Cant sleep. I'm about to go to bed, but here are a few pics of the limited progress. The first ones show the Dry sump bracket and sump bolted to it. Don't worry about the ugly cut out. It will have a finishing piece nicely shaped to the tank before painted. As will everything else.

I re-packed the front bearings with Amsoil 2000 synthetic. This took a ridiculous amount of cleaning, and repacking. Finishing it off with brand new dust seals. The Jury is out though. I'm not really happy with this. It now moves slower. I think Mobile 1 synthetic might have been a better choice. I don't know, maybe this stuff needs to heat up. Sure was a lot of damn work for a whole lot of nothing. Anyway.

more pics of the longer wheel lugs if I need a larger spacer. Last pic is of the back of the car with longer lugs and spacer installed. Looks fairly flush. Keep in mind the car is getting lowered another 1-1.5"

Trying my hand at video editing in the most basics of programs.

This is what happens when I tell two guys at the shop that the shell is too heavy for 2 guys to pick up. ...

Mantis racing has long wheel lugs with bullet ends if you are going to run spacers up front. They were the only ones I could find.

Thanks guys. I was pretty shocked. I haven't gotten it on a scale yet. there isn't much in it / on it of course. And I thought this was a perfect chance to start learning how to edit video. I also have finished packing the wheel bearings and trying to make sure it rolls nice. I should have done some sort of alignment first. Rear wheel are toe in one side, to out the other. Too much toe in on both front. But it was still pretty damn easy to roll. Of course the weight has everything to do with it, but before I repacked the bearings, it was much harder to do this. I didn't think the video the before. Tires are all at 30psi.

I bought the longer ones on Pelican. I think ours are 44. I have the 67 in front and the 77's in back. They are already installed. Not a whole lot of trouble when you've already got the thing apart on a table with all the grease completely cleaned out. Otherwise, I'm not sure I would advise doing it.

Here is a video of how easy it is to roll it back and forth. Horsepower is one thing, free power is another exampled in one way here.

Well, It is time to test install the transmission so that I can install the torque tube (finish it!) and line up the Motor. But first. I think Cleaning everything before going in is just wise. Installing dirty is just sloppy. Good lord. I don't think I have ever cleaned this transmission. 25 yrs of CV juice and slime. This is after 2 hours of degreasing and cleaning with the small brass and stainless brushes. I destroyed the brushes. There are still spots I didn't finish because my hand gave out and wouldn't hold the brush! I was smart and cleaned the very top of the trans first. I can get to the lower part when installed with a screwdriver to remove the thick stuff and finish cleaning. Anyway. Here are some pics and one with the lower part of the torque tube installed. Kinda looks like a ray gun with that.

I did install it last night. I didn't take pics cuz it was still so dirty on the bottom. It looks like I will have to add a spacer on the mount to lower the transmission to match the motor. Then I run into torsion bar / suspension tube clearance issues.
Custom stuff is so much work. I can always bet money on the fact that if you customize one item, you have to change, customize at least 3 other things around it to make it all work.

Pics;

Looking good. Looks like a 5hp Briggs and Stratton would move that thing easily.
