Lol. At least you won't have to worry about spilling your red wine inside either Darwin, hehe.
Nice to see some progress. Doesn't look too far off now. Just sort out that pesky wastegate tie in.
That weather looks unlike anything I've ever seen before. Eeek!!

Wussies….if I took a picture a couple of weeks ago it would have been all white!
We got 48” in 3 days in early December, then rain to melt it back to 12”…then another 24” of snow. Its going to be one of those winters!
Screw it – I’m going skiing today! (10 minute drive to the ski area)

Chris, that is the power supply for my friends soldering iron I am borrowing. The flames make it hotter!
And screw all this snow! I'm from Texas where it's in the 60s/70s today!
Patrick, you don't ever see snow down south? Forgive me as I'm completely unfamiliar with Aussie. Also I may be in your neck of the woods in September. I'll shoot you a PM. It would be cool to meet some of you guys down there.

Unbolt the slave. Point it so the bleeder screw it at the high point. Then open the bleeder and squeeze the rod in with your thumbs, and close the bleeder as the rod gets close to all the way in. That will get the trapped air out of that slave...

Its coming along - making little improvements here and there. Drove it to work today and you gotta love those wide open roads when everyone else is still at home snoozing

Yep, this is the easiest and quickest way to remove stubborn air from the slave.

Oh how I know your pain. I ended up buying a second new slave cylinder. I think the seal in my first new one is shot.
50 liters pumped through a Motive is just wrong.
I actually had a
Good luck with yours. Hopefully better luck than I have had. I am going to buy a vac bleeder also.
PS all of you have way less snow than Calgary

My plan is to do what Tom suggested. I didn't put my starter in yet for that purpose...
I know I am going to beg him to have his butt over here when I do it..
Good luck Darwin

What is this "snow?"
I actually have a tool that holds the slave for me and it then will compress the piston with a bolt. Hard to describe, and I probably overpaid for it, but if you guys want a winter project I'm sure it'd be super easy for someone to fab one/many if others want them.
I can't link to it, but go to www.bavauto.com and search for part: CBT TOOL
Edit: Also, pumping fluid from the nipple up also works, and if you want to give it another go with the Motive, jack the *** of the car up as high as possible/you feel comfortable.

Patrick, I will definitely let you know if I get onto that trip. I've always wanted to visit Australia! I can't believe you've never seen snow. Come on up here to Utah one day and I'll take you to some really good ski/snowboard spots.
As far as my car goes, it's been determined that the clutch will not fully disengage. A friend came over yesterday and helped me take out the transmission (for the second time...) and pull the TT back away from the bellhousing. Now it's time for me to go out there and wrestle with the bellhousing bolts and try to get that clutch off...hopefully the new clutch can be here by the end of this week.
