If you have an LSD and want to check/inspect, then its fairly straightforward after removing the side cover. If its an LSD check breakaway torque first. If it has some (its a very low test value) then the LSD is likely to be fine and not to be touched.
It is a factory AOR transmission with LSD. What is the breakaway torque number?

And if you don't have an LSD you will want one as soon as you fire up the new engine....!

With one flange locked and torqueing on the allen screw of the other drive flange, the breakaway torque new/refurbished is only 10-35Nm.

Remember that this is for a brand new/serviced LSD. The breakaway torque can be even less than that for a used LSD and still be working just as it should. Breakaway torque has nothing to do with the LSD's locking capability, only that the clutch pack has some pre-load on it.

Looks like the original engine isn't in the best shape...cylinder 1 had a gouge that I can hear click from my finger nail...and cylinder 3 has 2 or 3 I can feel as well...

Thanks...unfortunately I think I found why compression was slightly down. 4 was always the best

What the hell do you care? You have a brand new 3ltr engine. That block looks like it could be honed and reused, though I'm certainly no expert.

Some are pretty nice...probably a good candidate for 100.5 pistons.
