We are talking different worlds here Patrick My main goal was to use (cheap) stock bottom end and that means 2.5 liter. Any modifications like sleeving the block etc would make the engine immediately hi-budget.
Though 16v+turbo usually do not mean budget at all...

This is perfect imho. I have talking about building a similar build, but i haven't been able to find a 944s head. keep up the great work and keep us posted. Do you have more pictures of the motor?

Yes, but if it fits it fits. I like what you're doing and hope you get it up and running soon.

I don't think you'll have any problems with power Bas!

Have you asked Luis, Carlos? Be good to see someone else give it a go too.

Finishing the intake next week and than the IC, after that there will be a lot of time with cabling and sensors..

Yeah i have tried......... either i get he doesn't have it, gives me a outrageous price, doesn't respond, or ships me something not as describe...... while everyone else has great experience him; i haven't. I just think he doesn't like me lol.

This build would be pretty easy for me as i already have all of the custom parts needed. I just need to do minor modifications to the parts i already have, but nothing that would be break the bank or require anything special.

I have an extra 944S head, but it is bare. I have the cam caps, but the ladders would need to be sourced, and then the cam journals would need to be line bored. Also, for full disclosure, it has had the tensioner area welded. I have a complete one, as well, but am not necessarily ready to give up it, yet.

If you are interested in the bare head, let me now. I was thinking $250 was a pretty fair price, if you don't, let me know what you think is.

Tensioner area welded? Can you explain some more about that Harry? Or maybe a picture?

I am always worried about the tensioner area on 944 S and S2 heads (should be reinforced on 968 heads).
I was planning to go dual exhaust cams and dual cam pulleys but that would most likely require cutting the hood for intake pulley so decided first to start the car with original setup and then see how could I make it fit. Probably will make all custom pulleys with a bit smaller diameter based on the belt I can find. Not a fan of custom wear items so belt has to be production item from some other car.

Well.. I would like to see the progress on that! Because that will make me go dual cams as well..

But the tensioner area; i'm curious about the reinforcement! I know Michael Mount has build a girdle for the head for Henk's 8000rpm N/A engine.

you will of course have to get different pulleys - the original ones will touch each other as the offset of the two camshafts is too small.

But actually COP's from 6.0 W12 engines are pretty much perfect fit, did not want to buy them from the dealer for 30 euros a piece. I am a cheap guy you know and this is a budget build

In reality there is no obvious need for COP ignition but on 16v engine they look cool and since I do not aim too high power levels, these work well. ]
After some checking I found these: 0 986 221 050

Can you verify this?

Yep, seems to be the same.

Yes, I am aware of that. By original setup I meant that with single pulley and chain between camshafts.
