My grand plan is to use two exaust cams as I don't like multiple weak links. With two cam sprockets, there's only one, the belt itself. And this way I can dial the best cam timing/overlap for my needs also.

I don't think this will work because the cams are too close together, the cam sprockets will grind.

Exactly. The only problem to solve will be finding a timing belt with suitable length.

run a bit of string around it so you know the lenth and you will find the part numbers often break down into width teeth pitch type and belt lenth .a friend of mine also pionted out a realy good online appliaction for it , try to get one of those "gates" special blue one they are indestuctable and the OEM tru time thing is junk .
and you probably need to get a tool room to EDM the front pully out to fit your crank as it may be hardened steel

Oh, as for machining I have unlimited resources I can do everything in local sports-car manufacturing company (Lotus 7 replicas) where I keep and build my own cars.

also if you can your better off making up drives for the 2 inlet cams as they are about 8 degrees longer
also double up your sett up and take a look at my trade list please .same goes for your inlet manifold

There's no 944 powered Lotus 7 replicas because these motors are too big for this kind of chassis. There's one with Volvo 2.3liter turbocharged engine making around 350hp Curb weight is 640kg on this beast.

I was thinking about using inlet cam and make a drive for it but I wouldn't trust some home-made cam extension. I'll settle with exaust cam and if I need better cams, I'll go custom route.
But I can trade my S2 intake cam (excellent condition) for exaust cam if you have one

What trade list are you talking about?

well you turn some ends up for those cams and I'd swap and exhaust cam just drill the end of the cam and make an extension to go in .
just do a serch on my posts it was recent i did a for sale swap thread . there a list of wanted and going
I'm not home for a while .when i get some time at home I'll do some drawings and ask the cam and crank people and investigate how feasible.
I'm confident of welding ends but I'm still not decided . I may be able to get a bit more out of the exhaust cams with a regrind then set the valves higher to pick up the reduced base circle .

I just might have found second exaust cam from Finland.

But I'll take the intake cam to my machining-specialist (more like machining-God) to see whether it's worth to make it longer.

I'm planning the engine assembly to begin in a week or two.
