By the way, what fuel is being used? Pump fuel or race fuel?

Race Gas – but I did not get to really probe the ignition timing advantage – there is at least another 5 degrees of timing available for race gas. I did some rewiring on the dyno so we could datalog some more info and a little plumbing change for monitoring the oil pressure. We were not completely happy with the oil pressures so the pump is going back to the manufacturer for a check out and mostly a larger pressure section. It didn’t make sense to run the engine hard without everything being perfect. You have to be careful when the numbers get in to the 600’s!!

As soon as I figure out where I put my camera I will post some videos of the testing. There were a couple of things that did surprise me – this thing picks up revs FAST. One throttle blip and its at 6k rpm. It also has that nice 16v sound….and the intake temps did not go up much under load.

I will double check on the max out point of the injectors – I changed the fuel curves a little and that might make the 100% point a little lower.

Stock exhaust cams? And are you using the .82 A/R housing?

Congrats on the numbers. And I'm sure it rev's quick, being 16v and dry sumped as well.

Yes, both cams are stock. Once I see what I can get out of stock may see about having some customs cams made up – but I want to baseline it first. I have not played around with the cam timing yet, that’s the next step after we check out the oil pump. It is the .82 housing – the boost is set at 15psi (1 bar spring in the wastergate) and the boost is flat to 7k rpm.

Looks good. From it picture, it looks as if your ISV line goes to the MAF pipe (where the catch can would normally recirculate to) but it should go to the hard pipe right before the throttle body where you have the black rubber cap.

Doh! Thanks. I missed that when I threw it back together again. Pulled the pipes off and on a bunch of times.

take care,

Darwin, when did you start your 3.0 build?
I sincerely wish you it won't take longer than me - about 3 years
