Default Tow hook question

I plan to take my 86 951 to a DE in Nov, I want to use tow hooks to secure to the trailer. I see the two factory hooks in front. I have searched the archives and there a reccomendations of bolting to the rear frame just inside the rear jack points. I have 3 bolts already there. Are these factory and is there a mount that I can secure using these bolts?

Thanks
Steve

the factory ones are on each side in the rear- on those three bolts- accessed from the quarter panel pockets on each side of the hatch. www.paragon-products.com has a set of tie downs that replicate the original units, as well as www.rennbay.com .

Why not just loop through the wheels like everyone else?

I have the tendancy to over tighten everything I touch and did not want to mess up the alignment settings. I fell better just securing the car to the trailer by the mounting eyes. Just my preference, even if I am the only one.

DrZ1, What's up?

Have not installed mine yet but they look fairly simple. Single bolt hole style which I know is not what you prefer but they are an option.

I wouldn't be concerned about changing your alignment by cranking down on the wheels. If your suspension is that fragile, I'd suggest not taking the car on the track.

Agreed. Also, there is a good thread on this topic in the Racing/DE forum. I've been tying my car down through the wheels for 4+ years and we have not yet affected the alignment in any way.

Jerome951 - will you be at Daytona?

Dont think that suspension is too fragile, as stated just prefer to mount from body. My preference.

ELLSSUU, not much going on here, how did you make out from the storm, We ended up losing power for half a day. I went to BR this past weekend to visit the folks, man the town was a wreck, just about every house had a stack of logs and branches filling up the street. I hope to get by Terry's this weekend to put the suspension on the track car. I was hopeing to have it ready for PCA event in Nov at NPRW, but I doubt I will have the engine break in by then or even running. I plan to run the street car. Will you be attending?

I prefer the eyelet loop under the lower shock bolt. Then you are not attatching to the sprung body.
Trailered thousands of miles in this manner

I've been very curious about these. I'd like to take a look to see how would work with the Motons on my 951.
