I don't go out of my way to drive the 951 in the rain, but if I'm out in it and it starts raining it's no big deal. Only thing that bothers me in the rain is the fact that all the drivers out there who can't drive when it's 70 and sunshining are even scarier when it's pouring down and foggy. For that reason if I'm at home and need to go out, I take a different vehicle when it's raining.

In stock form they are not too bad in the rain. Double the horsepower with a laggy turbo that adds the power all at once and they become unstable. With 295s in the rear in the rain, both tires break loose in 1st, 2nd and 3rd when the turbo spools hard. Doing this in a slick corner can have diasterous results.

hell yeah I do! The only time I am really bothered by the rain is if the car was just freshly washed... Then I Will think twice about pulling it out if the weather looks like rain. I don't drive mine on snowy salty roads though. I had an NA that I used for that, and it was a BLAST!

absolutely drive it in the rain. it's my daily driver when its super hot out b/c of the workign AC. like ryan said above me ^ if its clean and its raining ill leave it, otherwise i bought it to enjoy and i just make sure everything is cleaned and wiped down when i wash it(very frequently!).
this is a pic taken from the same trip that we took with ryan (smokintr6)

Why should I drive the 951 in the rain when I have 4 other cars based on modern technology that are safer?
The 951 is fun toy, but not something that I would want to drive on a daily basis. It is obsolete.
I don't want to detract from the hobby. Messing around with the 951 is one of my few things in my life that gives me an escape from work. But, it is a hobby and not the most practical car for supporting my work or personal life.

1986 944T - No traction control, no anti-lock brakes, no airbags and platform designed in the early 1970s (primative computer modeling, if any)
2007 Mustang GT - Traction control, anti-lock brakes, airbags all around and platform designed with ultra sophisticated computer modeling programs to disperse energy in a crash.
Once again, love my 944T but it 22 years old and an extension of a platform that was created 30+ years ago. 20 to 30 years is a lifetime for technology.
