So the real issue here is throttle control and driver awareness? Common factor in both situations... the driver. The fact that the car is 22 years old, no ABS, no TC/PASM/Airbags/Blue Tooth/Rear Main Defibrillator/Onboard hooker etc etc. is not a problem at all for those of us who care to drive safely during the given the conditions.

05+ Mustangs have a far superior chassis to our 951s....

How fast do you drive in a traffic jam that you would really need to worry about skidding anyway?

It only took Ford another 15 years or so catch up. And it still marginal at best. Mustangs look good but, it is a fat over weight cow!

I have been driving for 25 years and the only accident I have had was when I was stopped at a red light and rear ended by someone else.

Once again, why would I choose a 951 in the rain when I have the option of driving newer cars with more features?

This forum may not like the Mustang GTs, but they are dirt cheap, disposable and have all the latest safety features. For rainy traffic jams, they are the perfect car. The 951 is a wonderful hobby, but not something that I would want to weather the Seattle traffic jams in.

The daily driver that I really miss was my BMW 740il. It had most of the modern technology and built like a Sherman tank (even had the bullet resistant windsheild option from BMW). I had no fear of an out of control Suburban in that car. Its only failing is that it was completely unreliable.

However, this is not about a test run with driver at 100%. This is about stuck in the rain, in a traffic jam, maybe while on the phone and being surprised by another driver. In this situation, I am better off with ABS where I am likely to slam on the brakes while fumbling with the phone.

And yes, I know talking on the phone while driving is not the smartest thing to do. But when the customers want to talk, I answer the phone where ever I am.
GET OFF THE PHONE TOOL!

sorry...had to vent there. If the above scenario happens to you, it's YOUR fault, not the fault of the car or other driver. DRIVE...don't TALK!

That was his old black 86. He hit black ice, on a mountain road. Car ended up on it's roof. He was fine.

300lbs heavier than a 911, but less than 1/3 of the cost.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a Porsche guy at heart, but the newer 2005+ Mustangs are a totally different car from the earlier ones, and they are very well built and designed - they are unbeatable in value.

Are you saying that you are 100% focused at all times on driving while you are on the road? If so, you are probably represent about 1% of the population Most people don't have that luxury especially when spending 20 hours on the road per week. I drive a lot of revenue by phone with that 20 hours every week. Once again, I have never hit anyone but have made use of ABS a few times.

Why are you posting here?? What are you smoking? I have two 944's and have driven both in snowstorms, rainstorms, etc. I also have 2 other cars and an '07 Tahoe. I drive the 944's when ever I can and leave the others in the garage. The 944 S2 Cab is my daily driver. The ONLY reason not to drive them is if I feel too lazy to clean the cars before putting them to bed.

Idea: sell the 944T to someone who will give it a good home and you won't have to post here anymore. Or, stop whining like a girl and grow a pair of *****...these cars were decades ahead of the curve.

seattle951: Your 951 is obvisouly becoming a track only car, which is totally cool, and a very good reason to NOT drive it on the street.

Track cars (especially race cars) are, IMHO, totally unsafe to drive on the street. For that, I don't blame you.

However, do you TRACK your car in the rain? If you don't - THEN be prepared for the a major ribbing, you *****.

I 100% never use the phone while driving. If I have to make a call, I pull off. No BS. That's what I do. CARS kill people. They deserve 100% of your focus.
