About the same price for a two pole lift.

Those are the worlds biggest rip-off in my opinion. A buddy bought a set years ago before the proliferation of hobbiest, 2 and 4 post lifts. While they served the purpose, they are about $1,000 more than they should be in terms of market value, and he ended up selling them for [pennies on the dollar and getting a 2-post lift. For $1,400 you can get a nice 2-post as Brian pointed out, or if you dont have the room you can get a nice mid-rise scissor list for $1,200ish which is still way better than the kwiklift.

I used a buddy's mid-rise scissor to drop a motor and loved it.

Holy crap!

I never realized the 2 post lifts were that cheap. I assumed 3-4K.

Thankfully some manufacturers starting making these "hobbiest" lifts. They are great for the price. I wouldn't buy one for heavy use in a full time repair shop however for anyones home garage or light duty shop use they would be just fine...heck they are such a good price you could buy two.

Any lift that supports just the tires is pretty useless to me. I wish I had bought a scissor lift when it was $1295/shipped. Now it's up tp $1550

my next house will have a two post lift as well. I used one as a mechanic for some time and loved it- and you can get to the bottom of the car not like the scissor lifts PITA.

Sadly on most of those two post lifts most of the parts are now made in China (minus the lifting motor which is still made in Illinois). Having one pre china build, and one post, the one made in China is an absolute piece of junk.
