Default 3 1/2 years later...Edit: and maybe 3 more

and the car is almost running again.

Here is a breif story of what happened: (pictures to follow)
November 29th, 2004 - Turned #2 rod bearing. Actually it destroyed itself.
Shortly ther after, I decided to see what was wrong. Then I gave up.

A year or so later I decided to go ahead and fix it. Keith helped me pull the old engine around the beginning of the year(maybe 2007). Man was that thing nasty. It also was toast. The cylinders were too messed up to try to fix, so I bought a used engine.

It also had a slight exhaust leak.

Then I did some cleaning in the engine bay.

And some more cleaning.

At one point, had so many parts laying around I couldn't even get into my shop.

Around Thanksgiving, we put the refrshed engine in.

I'm now finally getting around to trying to finish thing up. Wish me luck.

I think he's the one that's done most of the work so far. He's so quick, he's just a blur.

I'm about 1/3 of the way through your process. Bought the car running. Drove it twice and took a bunch of stuff apart. Fast forward a year, and I own a ton of new parts but the car hasn't changed.

I've decided to go all the way and strip and repaint the whole thing, including interior and exterior color change. Since I also own a race car, I anticipate finishing... in about 2 more years.

Here is a pic of progress as of this morning. I was making some more good progress today until it came a flood. Maybe I'll get a litle farther tomorrow.

I like the color choices there. Did you have the cam housing powder coated, or is it paint?

I'm actually getting ready to have one powder coated in red translucent over polished, and coat the intake manifold in 'black chrome', which is also a translucent color.

I used engine paint. I'm real good at scratching or chipping paint, so I figured that I could always touch up the paint. The intake is paint too. I don't remember what kind.

another quick update. Getting close. Just got to finish the vacuum lines, install the axels, a few interior pieces, and then double and tripple check everything.

Should have her running in a few more weeks.
