Where are you located? You still on a 2.5L engine? GT35 is pretty big for that no? Of course do-able but more for your E85/big boost/high rpm powerband type of trackcar setup I would guess.

Stuck in Afghanistan...

Yep, still on the 2.5L completely stock longblock. Though I think I will be doing a camshaft from CEP (still waiting on a little more info from Dave).
A GT35R is a decent sized turbo (as you know) - though there are plenty of guys running a similar or larger on here (if they know it or not). I don't expect lag to be unreasonable for a 600whp capable turbo.

I don't really track the car, and is more of a street-encounter toy. I will be running pretty much all the GT35R turbo can give (assume my motor holds). I will update my build-thread during/after the swap. And will of course dyno it and have full datalogs (including knock).

Should be fun!

35R is not to big for a 2.5L

car runs good. Did about 60ish miles today on 10psi. Turning it up to 15psi tomorrow and going to hook up the datalogger. Got a few misc things to handle here before I leave and head back to dallas with the car.

Here are some pics I took of the engine bay today.

John, the engine is looking good. Gabe gave me a update late afternoon, you must be excited. You need to rotate the MAF where the element is on top, not at the bottom as you have it now

see I thought the same thing. Does that make a difference in how it runs?

will that effect the tune?

John

it does look very nice. I am also looking forward to your vids as usual

Are you running with the WG w/o pipe. If so be careful as it is very easy to burn/crack a valve at high temps

alright guys looks like we have a oil leak coming from the oil pump. Gotta take it apart and check it out. I won't be coming home with it today.

On the plus side I can get a few other little odds and ends I wanted done, now done.

looks like we are going to have to wait on those dyno numbers.

I know I know. I wanted them too. muahaha... soon. Car runs and drives great. The software john sells is top notch and the support has been nothing short of amazing.

since gabe is keeping the car a couple more weeks we are going to hookup the datalogger and start fine tuning the car. By the time it gets to me now its going to be perfect.

sigh, I need a cup o coffee.
