Default Help with Cracked Dash

Hi guys,

What do / did you guys do with your cracked dashes? Is there a repair for them, or do I cover it up with the aftermarket products?

The 944/turbo dash is very easy to replace.
Everything is clip-on..
It takes about 3 hours.

If you glue some piece of crap on yours, then replace one someday, you'll want to kick yourself.

I have the instruction manual for it.

So I should call around a recycler to see if they have one, or should I go to the dealer and pay the $$?

recovered for a decent price..including the airbag http://www.928leather.com/

better that than getting one 20 years old that will still crack eventually..and just shipping one in good shape will probably damage it

and you might need to call Paramedics to meet you at the dealer, IF they could find one. Last one I heard about was $1895. jwl bought one in the Porshce box, 4 years ago on ebay for $650.

I just finished a temp fix till I get a dash recovered and have the need to remove dash. Web site www.colorplus.com get the flex fill and fill in the crack then recolor dash w/ surflex dye. I had a large crack about 5-7 mm wide now it is 1-2 when cold and none when sun warms up dash. I am happy w/ results.

Contact Mark at http://www.paradisemotorsports@front...t(928-453-8140) in Lake Havasu. He recently did my 944 dash in Alcantara and it turned out beautifully and the price was very fair.

This provides you with an overview of my recent project...

Search for "Dash Replacement Finally complete" by fbgh2o and you can see what I did.

Clark's garage has a excellent step by step method to remove and replace the dash.

I am in Montreal a fair amount. If you want to chat please PM me.

Roger called me and said you were trying to get a hold of me. I can be reached at 928-453-8140 or email me paradisemotorsports@frontiernet.net.

George Boss,
I can recover your dash and repair the cracks in your dash for you. I can recover it in german vinyl, leather, and alcantera. Call me for a quote or email a picture to me and I can tell you what it would cost. I can email photos of my work to you also.
