Default k27/6 or a lindsey super??

Okay ashly said my old turbo is prolly gonna need a rebuild and I honestly don't see the value in it. This turbo did make me over 300 at the wheels but, why bother at this point when I can just upgrade a little.

I'm not looking for crazy hp. This car would surely never make more than 400 in any configuration. Infact if I could make upper 300's i'd prolly be happy. What turbo do you think would be best suited for spooling and good top end without going nuts?

27/6 7200 or perhaps a lindsey super 61?? 65??? I think the 75 is just going to be too big. Any personal first hand expeirence would be greatly appreciated. Also if you got a freshly rebuilt unit you'd like to sell shoot me a pm.

i love my 27/8 although some think its "oldskul" - it isnt the quickest on spool- boost by 4000rpm- but its not bad on the street just keep the gearing down. Its absolutely awsome on the track.

I was looking at a super 61 I think(after doing alot of reading) or a 27/6 I found on evil bay...

opinions on the super 61 turbo??? can anyone chime in. I would prolly run 17-18psi on pump and I would up a couple of pounds with good fuel every once in awhile. Can that turbo support that??

I hear the super 61 can hold 20psi all the way to redline. Thats all I would ever need.

how much power did you make and at what boost level XS

btw vitesse doesn't list the price of their turbos on their website. What would a turbo from them run(built for a 2.5ltr)

k27=lag
lindsey=lag
vitesse= usually expensive, but quality is always top
speedforce seems to have good prices and good turbo choices
pauertuning also a good choice

John I think you would like the K27/6 - approx the same kind of power you were making before but with earlier spool and torque. Great street turbo without investing alot of $$$

Yeah thats what im thinking too. Those can be had for like 400.00 bucks. Its just hard to beat that.

If I bought a lindsey 61/65 or whatever its more than double. Altough paurtuning looks like they got what I need for 950.00.

ofcourse then the issue of chips comes up. Perry for how much? john for 800.00?

Not mine, but a pm from a guy on another board:

i also have a brand new turbo for sale. Turbonetics t3/t4 T62-1 good for 200-600hp, flows 65lbmin, 5 bolt flange can be used for internal wastegate or using a block off plate can use an external. T3 side for faster spooling. paid 900 looking for 600.

Might be some mods need to run on the 951 though.

Looks like the k27 and Russell's chips should be the most bang for buck.
