Jeff, if you say your car is that light, then great. It is tough to get our cars that light. Many of us have spent a lot of time and money to get our cars down to 2300-2500lbs.

Maybe if you write down some of your secrets?

If you need to compress your pictures, you can get a free account on photobucket and change the file size. But pictures of what? Like Ive said before, I've been fooled by my own digital scales that show the total weight. It has been incorrect many times. I did however find the trick to get consistent and correct numbers.. You have to push on each corner a few times to make sure the scale registers. Tires in center of course, and make sure your tires arent bigger than the scales as some brands might not actually read correctly. Truly, the best way is to drive onto a registered scale.

Just for reference, here are some pics of a car that has almost nothing left of it with a full fiberglass body, all lexan. No dash or anything extra. Weight on it is 2150 with no fuel. You're saying you're lighter if you subtract your fuel weight. IF you say without a doubt your car is lighter than this one. I will have nothing further to say about the subject.

It appears that some of you are pretty serious about reducing weight. I urge you to research the old 924 'kit car' (code 933) that Porsche and Holbert designed back in 1980. It was a marketing effort to sell 924's and ran SCCA D/P and was a true fly-weight. I raced one for many years with a 4V 944 engine in it, bigger FG bodywork and a complete tub chassis. It weighed 1970# wet and race ready.

May as well put in my car. 2630lb with half tank of fuel. Glass windows all round and all steel panels.
Full cage. Plan to lighten it further.

I just re-read my post. Confirming: tub chassis, not tube chassis.

I have the same scales. The exact same scales. This is what I am saying. Mine has read hundreds of pounds lighter without a process. Still. It looks like a lexan rear hatch? Fiberglass front fenders? It could certainly happen with whatever work that may have been done that is unknown.

None the less. Glad to see you have a new toy. Can't wait for the video.

Jeff, how much of the car is in fiberglass?

What's funny is that in my previous car I was always about getting rid of weight, now I'm buying lead ingots and adding weight in strategic spots. Go figure.

Before the wreck, it was 2630. Gutted interior, including wiring, fiberglass dash, lexan rear hatch, gutted headlamp system, no HVAC system at all.

After the wreck, I'll have fiberglass fenders, hood skin, header panel, front bumper cover, lexan windshield, more gutted electrical, and no more fans. Hoping to hit 2500.
