Bruce, I think it's doable if you were serious about it.

I had my 83 down to just under 2400 and I still had steel body parts, carpet, early seats and all glass, plus the blower and ic.

The suspension, small brakes etc are probably key.

I was thinking about the smaller brakes, combined with the very light small wheels would make a pretty large difference. Of course, then there isn't a Turbo, intercooler and all that fun stuff. . Is the NA trans lighter too? It is certainly possible.

Still, because I've been fooled by my own scales, I am not fully able to admit that weight is fact. If he says, hes driven over a scale at the track or something that has duplicated that number. Then yeah.. Cool.
