Wow...I think I just got screwed. I just had all 4 wheels aligned after my rebuild and it cost me $450. Of course, I had pulled the entire front end of the car off and just eyeballed everything when I put it back together, so the settings were WAY off. But still...... Maybe I need to find a new shop.

Vwvortex, 2 local dealers quoted me $250 also. I ended up paying $150 at a shop that had a Hunter 4 wheel laser alignment. There is a shop locator on their website.

paid $350 for a track alignment / ride height/corner balancing.
Detailed specs provided before and after - corener weights, etc.
Corner balanced with ballast dummy in drivers seat to drivers (Me) weight.
NOTE: not a firestone or tire shop... Local race shop - experienced 944Turbo racers that build/maintain/race 944T

When I first bought my 951 S in 2002 I took it to Wheel Works. They required 4 wheel alignment and they charged I think it was $140.00. When I gave the go ahead they offered me a lifetime alignment for the car for $350.00. I took the bait and I've been taking it in every year since.
FYI... Don't ever go to Sears. A friend of mine had his 87 951 aligned at sears for $75.00. I decided to take the wife's Boxster S there. Boy did they really mess up. On their initial alignment reading all 4 wheels were way off and said they could not adjust. Took it to other specialist to get their opinion. They look at the printout Sears gave me and said the same thing. According to the readings the car is basically rolling sideways. I took it to wheels Works and had them do the alignment and there was no problems at all. I compared the initial readings with ones from Sears and Sears were way off.

Did it myself at the shop on 3 cars...
Also, the 944 is a very easy car to align the only downside to it is race cars are usually beat so they take forever and I have seen alot with stripped out rear plates that make adjusting camber impossible. Also, for the love of god if you put on new tie rods use some anti seize.. Also, just to note it takes me about 1/2 the time to set camber without plates as it does to set camber with adjustable camber plates. The factory setup is fast can can be done with the car on the rack. Aftermarket plates will not allow you to adjust them on the ground as they have to much pressure and always want to go to one side.

Make sure they actually have the tools..."special tools" for aligning the rear...if not they'll just say screw it...make some tweaks...but they can't adjust the rear without these tools...even some dealerships didn't have them...i finally found a race shop that used to race 944 turbo's and they are doing it as we speak

oh and for an alignment and corner balance...you chase your tail a bit...so 350 sounds very reasonable...it's about 3-4 hours worth of work...mostly because you add a few more variables that are changing...especially if you have a particular ride height in mind
