how much have you paid for a 4 wheel alignment?

Wow...I think I just got screwed. I just had all 4 wheels aligned after my rebuild and it cost me $450. Of course, I had pulled the entire front end of the car off and just eyeballed everything when I put it back together, so the settings were WAY off. But still...... Maybe I need to find a new shop.
If your car was corner balanced, $450 is a decent price. If it was not corner balanced, you paid dearly. A non track dedicated car doesn't really need to be corner balanced though.

I know the tech well, so I also know that I was not screwed by extra time nor an inflated price. It took a long time. I also had him check for proper torque specs on all of the strut and shock mounts F/R, as well as every other nut and bolt on the entire suspension. He also corner balanced with me in the car.
It may have been a bit more expensive, but I'd bet my life on the fact that it was done right, safely and well.
Unlike some numb nuts on this board, I have no problem for paying a bit more for a job extremely well done. I don't skimp on my Porsche. If more people were the same way, these cars would hold more value.

Heck, I took my GLI to a Firestone after a friend recommended getting their lifetime alignment deal since he uses it on his Firehawk and Z31s that he tracks often. Well.. they couldn't do the rear they said for whatever reason and turns out they couldn't find the exact model in their computer to look up the specs... I went to the dealer the same day and got it done without any trouble. I think it was just a case of lack of training, but regardless, I won't be going back there with any of my cars for anything.

The actual rack makes more difference then the machine as does proper weighting of the automobile. The operator is the key to a good alignment and understanding how to get adjustments you want.

He also corner balanced with me in the car.
$450 is a good price with corner balancing. San Diego top shops that do REAL corner balancing are $500 - $600.

$250 for alignment and corner balance.
Specs:
Car weight with .5 tank of gas and me in the driver seat = 3200lbs.
Weight at corners: LF- 845
RF - 841
LR - 762
RR - 755
Height at corners: LF - 614
RF - 620
LR - 633
RR - 637
Feels like a different car from before the fix.
