Justin, 350 a year are you serious? My fiancee works for Auto Owners and even with a discount its about 600 a year for full coverage. I went to hagerty's site and could't get a quote lower than $600 for a 20k value and 1000 deductible... Did you get a quote like this online but once you called them it was cheaper? I'm 26 years old, do they base it on age?? Do you take the coverage off in the winter time? I would like to get my turbo and 928 through hagerty but the cheapest I can get it at is $1100-1200 a year (for both). Not really worth switching than..

Here is an email that I sent to a buddy regarding my dealings with Allstate. It explains exactly what they are doing to me. I can't upload the pictures here at work of the compared car, but will later or maybe he will if he sees this:
The way they are screwing me is, they had a guy come out and gather all of the information. He then sends that information to an independent company that does the valuations for Allstate. Allstate pays this company to do poor valuations. And when the valuation comes back low and you try to go after Allstate for it they throw there hands in the air and claim that it's all done by this other company and they have no control over it. That way they can't be blamed for the consistent low pay outs. There adjusters actually get bonuses for the less they pay out in claims. So they are thought act dumb and say there is nothing that they can do.
So onto how they valuated my car. The valuation company called up one guy in CO that had a Craigslist listing. They started my base value based on what this guy was asking for his car. He was asking 7900, so they started there. If he was asking 5k, they would have started my base price at 5k. That's right, some 60 year old man in CO just decided what my car is worth. Has even ever seen my car before? Do we even know if this guy knows anything about these cars? NO. He had never heard of Rennlist, so I question how much he knows..so on to the valuation...So they started with 7900 because that what the guy was asking. They then used his car to compare to mine. They compared our paint, interiors, wheels, and so on. I got docked $170 because my seats show wear?, I got docked $150 for my dash crack, and I got docked $75 for my tires now being brand new. When comparing the two cars you can have a push meaning similar condition, get docked meaning one car was better then the other. So the items I got docked for means the compared car was better. I had a push on my Fikse wheels because it was said that the compared car had similar wheels. OK, so for this type of comparison they surely had to see the compared car right? Nope. I contacted the owner of the car. He said that he had someone contact him a couple days ago and just said they had someone that might be interested in buying the car. They then asked him a few questions. That's all they did.
So I called him and asked a few questions about the items I got docked on and guess what? His dash is cracked, his seats have a 1 inch tear in them, his reported new tires are 6 months old and the "similar" wheels, well you decide from the pictures that the guy sent me. They also listed his car as a Turbo S and that docked my car $1595 for being a standard turbo. Guess what, his car is not an S.
They got to the 10200 price by offering me 2k for the 40k in receipts that I showed them.

I'll dig it up and fax it when I can Kevin. Might be a few days. In the future, I think it's a good idea to have everyone's car appraised. If we did, It would be easier to fight these insurance companies and I bet it would bring up the values a lot.

Wanted to give everyone an update as I settled with Allstate. I ended up getting 15k for the car with a 1.8k buy back. Not as much as I wanted, but it will be enough to start my 3l turbo project like planned.
