This is somewhat common. I have seen many blocks line bore checked and found them to be out of spec. The stock crank is very heavy and long. It causes all sorts of damage if you rev it to high. The best thing to "help" lower those chances, imho, is to drill the block and girdle and then dowel them together.

The problem found in this common part for the Honda's is that they more often make the bores out of round. (referred to in the Honda world as block gaurds) They work only when after installed. The block is then bolted to a torque plate and honed. - Just sleeve it.

Cement is common. I can't beleive Special Tool didn't chime in here as this is his lively hood and runs it in his current 951.

The Honda Sleeves Cracked from two things stemming from one reason. Aluminum too thin, and expanded at a different rate than the steel liners.

I am taking pictures now and will be putting up a post on everything involved in installing a typical Off-the shelf (sort of) GTseries ball bearing turbo. I probably did a few more things than most would in a few areas. A little less in others. But basically I used an adapter oil drain flange. had to clearance the stock intake, but am building a different manifold that doesn't sit over the Turbo. I enlarged the up pipe. V-band crossover. Another custom 3" Downpipe. And other little stuff that will be detailed in the thread for anyone interested.

I'm interested. Love seeing builds that aren't cookie-cutter..
