I have proven myself that the stock distributor ignition is lacking even at low power levels.
Even with semi-sequential injection, you will gain around 20hp at the wheels at only 300 rwhp with just the 2 channel wasted spark.

I don't get it.
If you have spark (not a miss) at the right time; what else can you do.
The only way I could see upgraded ignition giving you more power would be if you could retard timing with the stronger (maybe, a wide gap) spark and still have maximum force on the piston shortly after TDC.

It depends what your planning for the car. If you eventually want a standalone i would scratch the wasted spark. Then again if you eventually want another engine i would scratch the cam. You have to really think about your ideal setup to avoid spending money twice.
