Ok, I'll stay on topic. IF they race, ST is not going to win..

Ok now back to diesel truck talk, lol..

ps - this topic is over, they won't ever race. ST doesn't want to blow his car up before the 944 fest dyno shootout.

no jim is pretty serious. I was suprised when he actually told me that he was up to the challenge. I told what about the fest he was like no sweat. We even went to the track while it was raining. so i think its pretty serious.
Dave thanks for the info iam planning to get a diesel truck in the near future

He's not going to have an easy run at the "fest", trust me. I know all about his turbo, specs and ALL. In fact I was holding it in my hands.. enough said.

No problem regarding the trucks. You have to be honest with yourself and the trucks usage. Diesel's are cool but if you don't tow much or don't plan on keeping it for a while, they are pricey. The buy in and the fuel costs aren't cheap.

I never said it was going to be easy @ the fest. I meant that the car can handle it.
I only plan to use the diesel for towing and homedepot stuff which is actually often have a little side business. Thats about it. all the other days it will sit in my driveway.

I'm joking about ST. I was trying to stay on topic and trash talk.

Well, you may want a gas truck. Its about $5500 more to buy a diesel over a gas truck so, you need to put a lot of miles on it to make up the difference.

Continued OT truck talk:

Couple of heads up items when considereing diesel trucks are gearing and trans.
The deep geared diesel trucks without the $$$ 6spd or exta OD trans upgrade as well are horrible to tow at interstate speeds. Buddy here gets 12 with his powestroke towing 3500lb boat at 75mph...... is able to get 15-16 at 60mph

I can tow 65- 80 mph with about one mile or per gallon difference. Gas motor is far more flexible here. Of course you gotta feed it......... lots of gas... hahahahah

New trend here is funny...... people buying all diesel trucks and using them as daily vehicles with little or any towing...... absolute silliness.

More OT truck talk, (this ot is way better than talking about when ST is not going to race)

2bridges, your right about the trend. My gas truck gets fed $90 every 3 days but I drive a lot and use it for everything. If I stay around town all week, I get 4-5 days from $90.

*in Borat voice:* Very niiice! I guess I can now buy a dually!

But yeah...at the rate this thread is going, watching other people discuss diesel trucks has been way more fulfilling than the originally intended purpose of this thread

I'm just bustin' your *****, ST and TMS; it's way easier to criticize when you've got nothing to do with the whole scenario.
