Default Another one Bites the Dust...New and improved - Carnage Pics

I lent the 91 S2 cab to my father for the weekend – he was visiting from Santa Fe…they don’t get much rain there…so when he hydroplaned in a sudden cloud burst there wasn’t much for him to do except wait for the guardrail.
This is Dad’s first dented car since 1957…and he did it in style. The cab is a write off but Mom and Dad did not get a scratch.
I will go pick it up later today – I got to see it through the tow yard gates – the car is a least a foot shorter, there is no sheet metal or plastic in front of the front wheels and the hood has a 90 degree bend at the half way point. Coolant and oil leaked out and one front wheel is broken.
Score another one for the crash worthiness of the 944 chassis – even the cab chassis is pretty damn strong. I will post the ‘after’ pics tomorrow – here are some ‘before’ pics….

These cars definitely hold up to impact damage. I was amazed how well mine did. Sorry for your loss. Glad to hear the parents are o.k.

Aw sorry Chris, that was a great looking example! The loss of the car is a fair trade for the safety of your family!

That is heartbreaking. Sorry to hear it Chris, but glad the parental units are undamaged.

Sorry to hear. You know how much I appreciate these cars, but I appreciate even more the fact their sturdiness was enough to keep your loved ones safe.

It really was a beautiful cab too. From your description of the damage it's good to hear that both of them walked away from it without major injuries. It speaks volumes knowing how solidly these cars are built if a cab came through it with no cockpit damage. Again, sorry for your loss.

Good to hear they are OK, but after totaling such a nice car don't you wish that he would at least get a sore neck for a few days.

Forgetting how to drive in rain is the Socal anthem.

If your father is anything like mine you will be able to tease him for years about it.

To your father, "At least IIIIII never wrecked your Porsche."
