Default Rear Coilovers: Who made these & whats wrong with them???

I converted the suspension over to a used Huntley / Bilstein setup I bought on evilbay.

The fronts work great & look like Bilsteins.

The Rears do not look like Bilsteins and the ride height is very low

I deleted the rear tosion bars.
Mounted the coils inverted w/ Racers Edge Shock mounts.
These coilovers have height adjustment & a 16 position dampening control ****.
Springs are 0800/225/0600 Eibach Springs with <500 miles (8" x 2.25" x 600lbs)
The Height is adjusted (compressed) for the highest ride height.
When i hit full boost (12psi) the rear still squats. (with between 300-350hp) but i have to play with the dampening control.

Who makes theses shocks?
What can i do to prevent the low ride????
Did the previous user run these w/ torsion helpers?

-Jake

& Thanks to GUNS951 for the awesome deal he gave me on these rims, they look frickin' great.......

If you want the car to sit higher, you will need to buy longer springs.
Edit: I think you will need to find a spring that is 2" longer.

or put the torsion bars back on and use the coil overs in conjunction with the torsion bars.

they look like the QA1 shocks that i have. 12 way adjustable- they sell them on Jegs.com - work pretty good but not the quality of KONI etc. - longer springs, adjust them up.

I believe Huntley used to use Carrera coilovers. In 2004, QA1 bought Carrera.

Yes, i was just on QA1's site they also host on the site carrerashocks.com

So i think you are right ken.

I'll give QA1 a call and see about longer spring sizes or spacers

Thanks guys.

Does anyone know how these socks perform compare to similarly priced shocks like the bilstein escort cups?

Instead of jerryrigging these shocks to work it may be easier to just buy the bilsteins...

They are QA1 Promastar 12 way adjustables. You need to run a 9" spring with them to get the right ride height. I have the same units mounted inverted.

Cool, I may order those - seems like a reasonably priced setup.

I like that rear ride height, I'd leave it. Just lower the front a little more.
