Toyo R888s together with the M030 968 CS sway bars make the yellow Konis look soft on my car :-(

Very relaxing and very lazy. I did try 2nd in the two hairpins but it was too much hard work trying to control the wheelspin in the damp and 3rd gear was quite happy from around 2500rpm anyway.
Sounds great Paul! That was some nice footage, so thanks for sharing that. You have a fabulous car there mate, so enjoy it whenever you can now that things are coming together. With the right suspension in due time, you'll get "optiomal" traction for your 3.2L beast, even if you run low boost.

Cheers.

They are a very good brand of suspension and along with the same R888's and sway bars, my car is vastly improved over the modified Mo30 system it had before. Plus they are adjustable as seen here:

has anyone got pics of the v3's in a 944 setup? do they just supply the shocks and coils and you the mounting hardware? how does the rear look like? torsionbar delete?

I agree that kw has a good name and some very good shocks, but I didn't know they had a setup for 944

Judging by their website the V3 is setup to keep the torsion bars. The spring rates are spec'ed Front=340 / Rear=285 lbs/in which IMHO is too soft for track use.

They have plenty of stuff for our cars so no worries there and they do come as a complete ready to bolt in kit. As for the springs you can get different rates or just get the custom '2 way Race' like I did and this suits the track and the road in a way that should be illegal it's that good. Yes they keep the t-bar in the car but if you wanted it without you could specify that also I'm sure but unless you're doing an all out track car then torsion delete is unnecessary and sometimes counter-productive.

I hope we are not bringing his 3.2 thread to much offtopic but the suspension is interesting and important. I tried searching for threads but I couldn't find any big or good threads.

for me it's all out track. I have 0 noise insulation, so it's only fit I need something that makes me take a **** every 30 mins on the autobahn.

what did you pay for your KW setup? and what tracks do you race at? setting a 2way suspension on a lowspeed track such as our local tracks is ok. but doing it on Spa-francochamps and Nürburgring nordschleife is just scary. my friend spun off at 195 in a turn at spa, at 193 in exact same line it was ok... so small margins.

has anyone on rennlist asked kw about custom setups except you? what info have they gotten? anyone running torsion delete with kw at what spring rates?

p.s. I think we should start a thread with indepth info on a few brands like kw, leda, moton etc for the 944.

Woohoo I love my Vitesse Piggyback.

I have just spent less than an hour to virtually tune my car within a hairs breadth of where we need to be. After I'd read the manual a few times I was a bit bervous to get started (I am a technical dimwit ) but a quick email to John at Vitesse for some advice soon saw me on the right track.

The following AFR plot is after the first hours worth of tuning. I hope to do some more fine tuning later this week. One thing is for sure, according to the butt dyno the car has just taken a huge leap forward simply from having the fuel pretty close to where it should be.

Hi Paul, I'm glad you like it. As I promised, it's very easy to use, I must admit you are one of the few that actually read the manual.
I changed the files you sent me and sent them back with a couple of suggestions. Load them and see where you are. The changes I made should save you some fuel at idle & cruise, yet provide a perfect AFR at WOT. Remote tuning is such a joy, especially when the person at the other end provides accurate information.

Thanks John fantastic support and a very quick response.

We're just sitting down to dinner here, so I'll try them out when I've finished filling my gut

Default Jon Mitchell 3.2 Litre 951 - "The Daddy"

I contacted Jon Mitchell about this & he mailed back with a comprehensive background on the development of this engine. It's backed by a veritable who's who of the F1 world plus Ilmore, Cosworth & Factory Porsche engineers who worked on the development of the 968 & 968 turbo.

Five years of design work & two years to iron out the bugs - this is a pukka job.
It seems that this engine is based on design ideas that engineers at the Porsche factory were working on for the 968 & 968 turbo before the plug was pulled on that project.

I honestly believe this to be... the Holy Grail, the Everest, the nirvana...the...dare I say it (dare, dare!)...the DADDY of 951 engines!

Congratulations Diver944 - you are evidently an erudite man of exquisite taste!

I shall look no further when my project reaches the "propulsion development" phase. It will shortly be entering the "terrain guidance" stage which will involve (among others) those good people at Leda!

I may be a Kiwi - but I say "Long live bespoke British engineering!"
