So running a decent amount of boost, and at higher rpm..... How's the traction?

Just watching it again really shows how soft my standard M030 suspension is, I'd better start saving for that KW V3 setup that I want

Wow, you think that is loud? My car is no short of just plain pissing people off. Exellent vid, you defently need better suspension.

Yes Paul, I too didn't think it sounded very loud in the film, but by what everyone was saying who was there, it was noticable, but also seemed that everyone kind of liked it. Is it really much louder than the footage shows?

Actually I think there are a number of factors why the turbo and BOV don't seem as loud in the footage as I have been commenting about. Remember I started the day with a self imposed 5000rpm shift limit in the wet but I got black flagged because I was tripping the circuits noise meter. I then switched to a 4500rpm limit and I believe this footage is from that point as the track looks pretty dry. Also I had the rear carpets out and I think the turbo and BOV noise is partly masked by the transmission.

Finally, it's not so much the noise when I am 'going for it', I don't mind that at all because I am obviously in the mood for speed It's the gentle cruising and part throttle in traffic, as soon as you touch the throttle you hear the drill from the glovebox and as soon as you lift you hear the BOV do its thang :rolleyes. It can be infuriating in stop start traffic.

Excuses, excuses

I'll see if I can get some driveby footage this weekend, I've not actually heard this jet sound from outside the car myself. There is a dual laned highway about a mile from my house that can be quiet of traffic and has some safe pull in spots for my son to hold the camcorder while I burn past him like the irresponsible father that I am

'Do as I say, not as I do Son'...now hold the camera steady as I go past you at 18psi-6800rpm in 4th at 140mph!
I'm looking forward to your next visit to the 'Wheels of Truth'. I want a benchmark to aim for. lol

Great video Paul, thanks for sharing that! And when you get that suspension, you'll really be able to take more advantage of that beast you have. I can't wait to see it hit the dyno too!

I finally talked by son into taking some driveby footage

This is in 4th gear at around 6000rpm and is AFTER I have fitted lots of sound deadening material around the cone filter

I have to admit that I LOVE IT (but I can understand why I got black flagged for nosie at the circuit )

Paul, the flyby is 'other worldly'. Just awesome!! I wonder if you'll attract any plod though? How is it feeling now that you're boosting more and have the MAF sorted? Do you know what rev limit Jon's set?

I don't think I should attract the boys in blue (well unless I start driving like a lunatic on the roads ), I just hope my efforts with the sound deadening mat has toned it down a little to get me through the track limits at Donington Park next Sunday

The car is feeling very well sorted on boost now and I'm learning to cope with the way it drives every day. I just need to fully tune the cold start and part throttle cruising now. She's a pain from cold at the moment and idles extremely low at circa 600rpm, she's great when warm though

The RPM limit should be set to standard, I think the 6800 shown in one of my datalogs was explained as an innacuracy between the tachometer and the true RPM
