This may be a silly question, but why not go over to a fully programmable system like a Wolf 3D plugin ecu ?

(apart from the costs, which seem pretty high for you americans)

Because now we have Maxtronic and/or VR Live... this will allow tunability for 95% of peoples needs, is simpler and a cheaper solution.

Good looking chart Lart.
A JME cam would probably be the best bang for the buck as next mod.

Lart , talk with John (Vitesse). The chips are perfect out of the box. You'll
find that there won't be a need to tune for different boost.
I've done no tunning since I put in the chip board and can run whatever psi
I want and the AFR's are alway on the money.
And you won't believe how it idles!

Nice chart Lart good torque # too. Maybe a different cam a bit of head work, those headers work real well. The 60-1 turbo does the job too.

Vitesse did chips for my Lindsey maf, but I was able to provide John with the calibration sheet for my maf. I'm guessing that John won't do it without this sheet as there are just too many variances between maf sensors.

You can hear the higher pitch from the the 4-1 headers.

951 MAXX!!!!

Then you can get about any MAF you want and not a $600-1,000 MAF.

Because with the chips and/or PB that are on the market now, there is no need for full stand alone.

That's a blanket statement above and I don't agree with. I had both a MAF and custom chips in the past. But since my goals have changed, I've elected to go with a Tec3 - EMS. It depends upon the application for the end user.

Well, not true.
The WOT tables are still 2d in the Motronic. While you can scale the fuelling correct, the ignition will stay the same.
Ignition tuning is much more delicate and harder to tune than fuelling. IMHO much more important too..
Basically, if you want maximum flexibility regardning boost levels, intake temps etc. with maximum performance and reliability Motronic doesn't cut it.

But I agree that standalone aren't for everyone.

Just to clarify, my reply was to "no need for standalone".

If you are in a situation of 100% track car or maybe ST, then yes, other wise what are the benifits of full standalone over chips/PB ???

And ST is not even using full stand alone is he???
