Default Went for a drive this morning.............

I was sitting at a stop light thinking of how well the car idles when I notice
out of the corner of my eye a car pull up beside me. I didn't think much of it
until I hear it's engine rev , sounded like a V8 with headers so I took a look.
Sure enough it's a new Mustang GT, looks modified , then I notice the guy
smiling.
I look back at the light , it turns green and off he goes with the tires squeeling.
At this point some primevil force grips me and I must defend my honor.
I realise that I'm still in neutral so I quickly put it in gear and let the clutch out,
I almost stall the engine (still getting used to the new clutch) but keep it
going. I short shift into second and start to roll on the power, I quickly
start to reel him in , I get up to him and shift into third, loose traction for a second, and go by him very quickly.
I slow down to give him a wave, he goes by without even looking my way.

Hi David
I think he might think twice before egging on a 951 again.
If you have any free time let me know, I'd like to see the new paint and
those hood louvers.

LOL. Ski it was 25 at my house this morning. The car really likes the cooler
temps. I usually take it off the road in the winter to work on but I think I'll
start taking it off the road mid summer instead.lol

Mustangs are fun, especially because the (usually) dumbass owner "thinks" he has a nice car.

Good kill!

I will be there a little before 12, usually park in the area to the left of the building as you face it.

nice kill....damn mustang guys...lol.....i have a mustang with 400 rwhp and can tell you that ive never ran the 2 side by side but it would be interesting (from a roll of coarse) because from a dig my mustang runs 12.3@114 mph but i think that my 951 would run it down and eventually destroy it ..although i really never street race...there is great satisfaction of running down these guys with their so called fast cars

dougoh, I don't street race but I though I should try and wipe the grin off his face. He was asking for it.
I've haven't dyno'ed the car yet so I don't know the rwhp but with the VR stage 2 kit the car is pretty quick.

Ohhh it's nice to own the automobile by which all others set their standards...just check out any rice, kraut, or camaro board. I must admit, my 951 is a wonderful daily driver that goes, stops, and turns...but when my "dumb ***" hits the "GO" pedal on 500rwhp (dyno'd at 110° on pump gas) I still giggle like a school girl. There's a few local 'listers that know better...

not really flaming, just curious.

I don't really understand the strong desire everyone has to prove themselves to people they will never meet again, whether their cars are superior or not. At least not enough to come to the forum and brag about it after.
I drive a civic, with an engine I built, and of course every other civic wants to run. I usually know which i can take and which I can't. Yes, granted i guess sometimes it tempts me to know just how much the work I did improved the car, but then I can just go to the track and not take any risk. (legal or safety)
Again, not a flame, it seems like on every forum 85% (its true, I polled every car forum on teh internets ) of the people have their pride to uphold. Someone explain to me just what it is I'm missing.

Ok now you have me curious. What have you done to your car to get 500 RWHP on pump gas?
