I think just cleaning the engine up good does a lot for it, as well as refinishing all the heat shields and such. Here is the progress of my engine as of right now, I am waiting for the cam tower, intake, and a few other items to come back from the powdercoater. The entire build from the start is documented here (56k beware): http://www.kcws.org/index.php?showtopic=1336

Round 2 will have Swain or Calico coatings instead of the cheaper stuff.

Have you ever used any of the other Swain coatings, the ones for heatshields and stuff?

Brian: I don't know anything about Calico, so ask Chris. But I do know a good amount about Jet Hot, which is excellent. I had a long conversation with a tech a few weeks ago regarding coatings for the hotside of a turbo and headers too. Here is a link where they did a test and showed the benefits of using their coating system. So there is empircal evidence to support that it is beneficial, as it would be too for the hotside.

But what Doc said is on the money here, I couldn't agree with him more.
