$2750 for block machining, sleeves, JE forged pistons, wrist pins and rings. I paid extra for bottom end assembly. From my man, Mr. White.

Here's mine. I'm not into bling in the engine. I'm all about business. I'll leave the bling to Rob.

Reno, I don't get it? Silicone cuplings on my inter cooler?

Funny guy Rob, thing is, I'm not hp King anymore but you forget my tq. I'll still outpull anyone I know. Tq is what wins the race, not hp.

[QUOTE=Fishey]How much did the Darton sleeves set you back?

I am currently trying to decide what I should do to my block..
QUOTE]

Don't sleeve that block. If you really want to do the darton process, I have a perfect candidate engine block, plus a friend looking for a 104 bore.

Slightly OT but I've noticed a bunch of cars using MAF/cone setups with the filter located in front of the coolant tank - I'm surprised at this arrangement given the fact that you are eventually drawing very hot underhood air into the turbo & intercooler thus adding more heat to an already toasty combustion area.
I've done cone filters on other cars and experimented with the snorkel location in my 951 and it's pretty clear that cars runs better when fresh (outside/ambient) air is supplied to the intake. On the other hand, I've seen several guys on the board using block off panels to isolate the cone and even one guy with his filter hanging into the fender well - one would think that everyone with a cone would eventually adopt some variation of this "cold air" intake arrangement for the obvious performance and safety benefits..... nice looking engines though! I wish I had the time to shine my underhood bits but between the wife, kids & an old house my tinkering time is limited.

after 45mph, most of the underhood air is ambient anyway. temp, not a big deal, AF ratio is.
