Anyone have this on their car and what do they think? Any trouble with them shifting as it will alter alignment etc.

Had it for 3 years now. I too was little bit concerned about it shifting so I made two marks, on each side with a chisel. Both marks have remained identical to the original installation marks, as I look at them each time when I change the oil. Nice pc and we plan on adding one to the track car next time we do any big maintenance.

edit, I thought about it, I actually put it in shortly after it was first offered 5 years ago when I did the refresh on my car. I also have the original 3pc crossover as well.

Its a must have. Get the cross over pipe mod too. With that comobo I can drop an oil pan in 30 minutes or remove a turbo is under an hour.

Been 3 years for me working perfect, HUGE time saver when paired with the 3 piece cross over

I bought on Ski's recommendation, he has always given great advice.

Fantastic. Only a 2-piece crossover will allow you to do this, or do you need crossmember as well?

Regards,
Chris

thank you David.

Yes, the crossover pipe will allow you to wiggle the turbo out, provided you're mounting bolts are in good shape , don't know if I could do it as fast as Chris, I doubt even on a good day trying to do that

Anytime I do a turbo job I pretty much force the customer to install one of these – with the labor saved putting it back together it pays for itself right away.

It's funny, I put mine on after all the bottom end work, but I'll get a chance to enjoy it for my turbo upgrade..

Mind Over did my alignment but it hasn't been checked since the install.

Huh, thanks guys. Small oil leak. Some of you may say it's because of Mobil 1. That was heavily addressed in another thread. I think I'm switching to either Valvoline 20/50 or AGIP. What's the three piece cross over pipe? Now that I'm on it. What else should be done? If I fix the dreaded oil pan gasket, I was going to go with SFR StageII headers to save time and labor. I also am going to change my timing belt as it squeaks on start up for about 30 seconds and do not want to chance anything. Anything I should know? Just a thought, any one want to come to Vegas for a wrenching party? I might as well start learning how to work on the damn thing myself. You guys have me motivated. Save a bit of cash too. In a few months, if I can squeeze the time.

DFASTEST951

Get the SFR Stage 2 header, with the V banded cross-over pipe.

Not only is it V banded, but it's V banded in 2 places (on each side of the oil pan). And the SFR setup doesn't use gaskets! (and it doesn't leak).

Oh yeah... you'll pick up a good deal of power too :-)

Have one. Haven't put it on yet though. It's part of my big-list-o-upgrades getting ready to start in a few weeks here.

I also worry a little about those bolts acting in shear, but I guess there are other things that would fail way before that would.

That belt squeak on start up is probably either the alternator or power steering belt. Doubt it is the timing belt. I would check that first rather than replacing T belt unless your's needs to be replaced for age or wear.
