Awesome
Charlie944: DEAR CHRIST!!!!!!!!! Okay yeah, this thing is def. a BEAST!!!! I appreciate the pics and info, keep this going!!! Might just have to save up and splurge..hmmmm
In those pics, am I mistaken or do I see 4 individual throttle bodies with a relocated intake mainfold? What does this do for power output, worth looking into? I know there was a thread saying that they are not needed, but if Porsche AG did it......hmm.....Also did these have a flat underbody tray? Has anyone tried doing a tray on the entire underside of the 951? Infor PLEASE!!!

Some more tidbits of info, solid lifters (like someone said), drysump with 4 scavenge sections, the oil pan was integrated with the girdle, each section was separate, had a different crankshaft but stock stroke, I had the pleasure of seeing one, it was BEAUTIFUL. Made more than 700 crank horsepower, dont know what boost.
I doubt the turbo was based on a k26 in any way at all. Anyone have more info on that?

Mark - 700+ is pushing it. Here is the add from the last time it was sold.....
Description
944 GTR Turbo IMSA GTO RACE CAR This Porsche race car was specially built under contract for Porsche Motorsports by Dave Klem of Fabcar. The chassis serial number is 007. This car is the 7th factory race 944 manufactured. This car is the only race 944 built to IMSA GTO specifications. It was delivered to Al Holbert, the North American Porsche Motorsports director at the time. Al Holbert had several Porsche test drivers test and develop this car over a couple of years. At that time Electrodyne was competing very favorable in IMSA GTO and needed a new car to remain competitive. Al Holbert agreed that Electrodyne could take this car and campaign it in GTO to enhance Porsche’s image. Al Holbert was killed in an air plane crash in the late 80’s just about the time Porsche decided to cease selling the 944 family of vehicles. 6 previous models were delivered and sold to individual race teams to compete in the SCCA Trans Am Series. There are a tremendous amount of spares including 2 engines (one to go in the car and other spare), sufficient engine spares for at least another engine, plenty of rebuild parts, wheels, complete spare suspension pieces. We had enough spares to rebuild anything that broke more than once.

Any idea on the plumbing to the top of the cam tower (AN rubber lines to blue anodized blocks, 1 per cylinder), perhaps an oil spray system for the solid lifters and cam?

I believe these might be relevant to this thread ! I took these a couple years ago while at a certain shop in the West Coast that also had 3 959s being serviced!

Cool pictures,
ST, I got the power number from a reliable source, but I have no dyno charts to back me up. My guess is that the 600hp was at a lower boost, and the seller was advertising the power the engine was running at not the max they achieved on the dyno.
