Peter,
You could tub it off so the wheel is completely enclosed from the inside of the car and air doesn't get through the back of the panel. This would be quite normal, however, if you look at many modern racecars now they have much of the rear section behind the wheel open or even cut away completely. This would be to release pressure build up. The only thing is that you'd need to be aware of rubber and stones etc flinging up into the panel work. So perhaps half tub it or put screen mesh in there?

Thanks for pics and comments. I think I'll try with inner fender and see how it Works as if i choose to use half inner i'll have to make something to close it from the inside. Else Things will be flying to the inside of the car. Wonder how they did in the past?

For the best aerodynamics you should leave it completely open towards the rear.

You can tub the inside possibly even with the stock inners? Not sure, if not, just get someone to fab up some alu liners that will seal off the inside of the car and leave the rest open. See how the modern RSR has half the rear of the wheel arch completely open to atmosphere.

And another question. What size and offset was used on these cars? I will be using the original 951 rear axle ( according to the Width ) of course with uniballs and so on. As I can see now the car will be 80 mm wider each side (160 mm total ) wich means offset below 0. Any ideas where to get a setup of rims i can afford

You need to join Rennlist and become a member. It's only something like $25 per year and there's always enough in here to warrant that small cost.

Tony G is selling some good wheels here. https://rennlist.com/forums/944-turb...ck-wheels.html

Wide 3 piece wheels & cheap aren't often associated in the same sentence. The advantage of a 3 piece wheel is you can modify it to fit your needs.
