Default Why me?

out all days I decided to take my car to work today , there I am waiting in traffic and this guy out of nowhere rear ends my car. He walked alive, out of this one. He could have die from injuries not from the accident but injuries that I could have inflicted on him. Gladly he has insurance and you can count I am going to sue his insurance co. Also as we speak I am going to see my lawyer because my neck, shoulderand back hurt a lot. Well check the pictures to see if the car can be repair or it's a total loss.

TIA

Luis

Lart,

Is that some new type of vented nose panel? I don't believe I have ever seen that style before!

Seriously though, that is too bad!! You can tell it was a very hard hit by the way it crumpled the sides of the car. I hope this guy's insurance takes care of you. . .

Doesnt look good, but im not an expert. Someone else had rear panel damage like that, and his car was totalled. IIRC, it was a white 951 and his forum name started with an R?

That sucks man, your car is gorgeous

Lart, so sorry about the damage to your car. Hopefully no one got hurt badly!
Time to play hard ball with the insurance company!! Go get checked, hire ana ttourney, and keep the details private...
The car looks as a total loss, so start collecting ads (RennList, Pano, Excellence,..) for all the cars similar to yours, the more expensive the better!!! Once a $ amount is agreed on (value of car, medical bills, loss of work...) THEN settle AFTER they agree to sell you the car back for cheap as it has sentimental value...

I was test driving a Turbo S and got hit the same way. No front damage, but the same crease in front of the rear wheel well. $8500 in damage was the quote. I bought the car for parts, I would not want a car that had been fixed after a hit like that. Getting the rear suspension out required a big prybar, everything was a bit bent.

I hope you have the receipts for the mods, otherwise I would be tempted to "restore" your engine back to factory before they take it.

Don't know what a hit like that would do to the tranny, but I'd guess most of the other stuff would be OK.

I know it's a fair way away, but a guy I know here in VA is selling a beautiful, unmolested Turbo - only about 57k miles. Would be a good, clean base car to transfer your mods to.

I've got a set of phone dials, if you need another set of wheels.

Damn this has been a ****ty month! I'm really sorry about this Luis. Glad you're okay. Do what John said above. I lost my girlfriend a week ago today. Two others that I know lost parents. This has been a ****ty month. Get the back and neck checked out. You DO NOT want to let it go. Long term problems in that area can become debilitating. Now SUE THIS GUYS ***!

It was silver, and that was my car.
Hope for the best, but expect the worst.

sentimental value!!!!, page 3, para 2 in the insurance adjusters handbook.

when i was t-boned back in feb, when the 944s was totalled, it didn't mean squat that there weren't that many of the 16v cars around and it would be hard to replace.

the figure i got was right from kelly blue book and the adjustor threw in the car, no charge because it wasn't worth his aggravation trying to find a home and i told him i wanted it.

I hope the guy actually had insurance, or you at least had unsured covverage. CA is the land of the uninsured.

Porsche Club of America has a market valuation service for members and their Porsches.
