Sooooo Soorrryyyyy....she is a goner!
When the rear crumples the quarters like that.......
Now having said that. Find a junker with front end damage, cut it in half and take the rear. Replace your front fiber and enjoy life....(of course any number of tranny/suspension etc components could be compromised)

Hopefully the high back seats kept the neck and back injuries to a minimum. You definitely want a trusted doctor to view some xrays. Those type injuries can lay dormant until your later years, then u find things u enjoy cause pain. Remember insurance companies aren't in the business to give money away! What kind of vehicle hit u, how fast do u think he was going, sorry about your pain and suffering...hurts me to look at the pics. I hope the guys name wasn't TROLL, remember he doesn't have insurance!!

That's awful. Sorry to hear. At least you walked away from it and hopefully everything will check out medically for you.

Hire a good ambulance-chaser lawyer. . .

If you buy it back for parts, dibs on the crossover pipe and the LSD.

Why is everyone talking about lawyers? Dont you just get a payout from the insurance company?

PS Sorry dude... it sucks, especially when its not your fault!

Because in this country, insurance companies go WAY out of their way to undervalue pay outs, and in this counrty the person who rear ends you is ALWAYS at fault if they doidn't get pushed into you. There's a huge chance that the insurance company will screw Luis, and then he'll need to get the rest from the at fault driver. We're not talking about being unfair, but instead about covering his ***.

Any thing can be fixed, but that buckle in the rear quarter indicates the entire rear *** has probably dropped. I had a brand new Alfa quadrafolio back in the late 80's 6000 miles on it. Got whacked real hard and it dropped the entire back end about 3 ". The insurance company would not total it and it was never the same.

i would agree, and buy it back from the insurance co.

If you need a car, i am selling my 87. Check it out here.

Luis,

Sorry for your loss! It just kills me to see this happen to a fine car like yours. And insurance companies that hide behind Kelly Blue Book, is a rip off! How is it that a 951 is only worth $9k when you have to spend $20k for a lousey VW new Beetle? I tried to get an "agreed value" insurance policy with AAA (my carrier) and they would not do it. What a scam these insurance companies have. This situation has me scared to even take my 951 out on the road.

With all the totals, fires, part-outs, I wonder just how many 951's are left in the world?

sorry luis, did you get hit by a truck or something? start collecting marketing values, you may also need to hire a private assesor to get a fair value.

Those pictures are painful to look at. Sorry about your car, its a shame when things like this happen to unique cars. I hope everything works out.

Oh and make sure you buy it back instead of letting some junkyard get it, at least it's memory can live on in making other 951's happy cars with it's parts. .

Luis, first of all the injuries to your neck and back may not show symptoms for several days or even weeks. Like Ripit said, get checked out asap, you will probably hurt more tomorrow and the days after. I had a compression injury from a motorcyle off at Mid Ohio and the disks eventually ruptured about a year later. Now I've got a steel plate holding the vertebrae together and chronic pain for the rest of my life. Try to remember you can replace a car but your health and well-being is much more important.

Best of luck with your recovery and the insurance company.

Like others have said, try to get someone to assess the previous value, when my '83 N/A got totaled, the insurance company wanted to give me 1k for it , i ended up getting about 3500 because of other cars in the area. also, get yourself checked out, my mom got rear-ended by a maxima and the car didnt even show any signs of damage, but she had back problems within months. Good Luck!
