I found a link with a guy that had an engine on an engine dyno, then in the car on a Dyno Dymanics and then Dynojet, there was a 12% difference. It was in Aussie IIRC. I will look for it again if you like...

I would be interested in reading that link, NZ. I know of a few others who would like to see it as well. ST is going to be doing his own testing soon, though.

Oh yeah? Make sure he cranks the boost to like 30 PSI while he's there!

I wish what your saying was true NZ. As I have posted mustang dyno numbers. That would put me around 380whp + on a dyno jet. I just don't think it's so.

check out this article. http://www.turbomagazine.com/tech/03...ash/index.html

Dyno #2 is from Australia. The last dyno listed is a load dyno similar to a mustang dyno.

Wow, I take off for a while and I miss a ton. Doesn't anyone ever work on here? lol. Anyway, yes I did spend about 200k on my car. I am embarrassed(spell check?) so don't rub it in. It was over 8 years though. I also went through 4 motors which made up most of the cost. That said, I can't stress to you guys about how important break in on new motor is. I guess I will have to actually get on a dyno jet and let it rip. I just don't see it being real life numbers as there is no load as if it were on the street. I also could probably run 28-30 psi, but I'm not looking for glory runs. I run it all day long at 21. It was built for it and I'm not looking for motor number 5. Then again, ST and his car is giving me and probable a lot of others the incling that more boost is possible. I just don't have the guts, money, tears if it blows, etc...

Jimbo I can attest to this as I have several dynos on a Mustang and one on a dyno dynamic. I have 11.8% difference. Maybe the dynos where your located are calibrated better.

I cant wait to get on a Dynopack! lol I have found a new one local, I will try get on there in the next week or so. If all goes as described I will be knocking on 400WHP, at least mid-late 300's.

Todd K, for the first 300 miles or so I never went over 80mph, and never over 2600 - 2700 rpm. Then up to a thousand miles, I never went over 3500 rpm. Then up to 2500 miles, I never went over 4500 rpm. From 2500 to 3000 miles I raised the boost and started to get up to 5000 to 5500 rpm. Even then I only gently and gradually got on the boost. no dropping the hammer through this entire time. At 3000 miles we went on the dyno. Then I started getting on it more. About 1500 miles later, I felt the motor "set" even more and I had to turn the boost down so it's even faster than the dyno states. I just never dynoed it again. I changed the oil after the first 300 miles as per Powerhaus' advise. Then every 500 miles till 3000 miles. Now I still change it every thousand miles or so. You can still see through it. Powerhaus said this was a bit overkill on the breaking in part but they have built similar motors that have never been as powerfull as mine so they think it was the break in that did it. I also only have 52lb injectors and a 2 1/2 inch exhaust. I was just so afraid of blowing another motor so i made sure I broke it in gently. It was really hard to hold back but I didn't want to see motor number five. This was just my experience.

Joe - the reason your engine came apart was because David was using a 2.5 base timing map wth your 3 liter crank and experimenting on your dime....
He is responsble 101% for the blow-ups - NOT you!!!!!!!
Now he's got you neutered with ridiculously retarded timing and an archaic KKK turbo, just so you are safe. You are leaving 100++ HP on the table, dude.

You think my timing is off? What kind of turbo do you have? 100hp is a lot. I feel like being drawn slowly but surely over to the dark side. Especially after seeing your numbers. I know there's a lot to be had with my car. I believe 100 or more too. As far as cost for what you think my car can accomplish, wouldn't it be the same if I went to Motec engine management?
