You will never learn tuning from a forum or are you like to be lead by the blind ? Nothing beats hands on practice with a fundamental knowledge in theory. Make some friends in your part of the world who own a newer model VW/ Audi 1.8t / 2.7t , spring 250 for a vag com cable , register and voila , you will be able to truly understand modern engine mgmt (assuming you own a laptop) and then you can apply your newfound knowledge to your car, and btw you will know more than 95 % of this board. Once you understand the above i can direct you to a free program which will allow you to adjust the perimeters beyond what the vag protocol allows ( timing , fuel tweaks , scaling etc )

PP: That is true, but there is always a base right?

Take AFR's as an example, you dial in a lean mixture for spool, get right for torque etc....

In my part of the world, there is NO ONE who tunes cars at all, all they do is "get everything bigger" (turbos, exhaust etc) and not care. I even mentioned this to several vendors, i didn't even know what a wideband is, and i assure you that all the "tuners" here (who are just suppliers really) don't even know that.

That is one of the reasons when i ask a question about tuning, i get either flamed for it, mocked, made fun of etc....

Sam:

You get flammed or made fun of? Come on. Why would people do that? Especially since you are the Ambassador?

Matt,

Wolf3D is very much a low cost alternative in this end of the world. They are decent products but the displays have historically been shabby. The newer AEM based versions look more polished. By the way, AEM's ECUs come out of a little place in the UK! AEM dont make them at all. LR said the Wolf3D will be between 3-3.5K!!! That puts its competitor at about Motec...

Sam.

It is "Gee", not "Chee" pal. Second, since you are the "Ambassador", I would think you are an expert on EMS systems, no?

Are there anymore parts for your car I can help you with? Need a Turbo, Pistons, IC, etc? I am your friend, remember that Mr. Ambassador. Maybe I'll give you a spare 2.8L engine I have, this way you can be the fastest car where you live!

Uhh...who did you think I was talking about? I'm actually trying to figure out how to afford a 3.0 8 V with the MIID sleeves.
