It really dosn't take a whole lot to make 350hp. With the options out there.. 400 should be the target if you are willing to spend a hair over $3000. (dyno tuning seperate, of course)
I can't say enough about John, he's willing to talk you through things to make sure it's correct. If you have a problem, 9-10 times he'll make time to talk with you. Service must also be thougth about when you buy products you know you'll have questions about.

Thanks
Why don't you start your own thread about how hot your kit is and if people want to compare with you we will.

Guys please. Just stop all this bitching.
I think for the money, the Guru kit comes with the most stuff. I have HEARD problems with the Lindsey kit not making that power. I think in their dyno it says that the dyno was done with a optional cam. That ups the price of the kit by a lot. Vitesse is obviously a solid option but you don't get everything with it. You won't want to run a stock wastegate with any upgraded turbo. That would be pointless.

More power to you!
You are correct.. I have a fresh motor and that might add 20-30hp over a well maintained 100k motor.
Just tossing out a configuration that often gets overlooked. $2000 gets you a Huntley MAF/ARC-2 setup for $200, Vitesse chips at $500, K27/8 $1000, 55# Injectors $300. Get a Split Second ARM-1 for $75 and you can get a decent tune using narrowband.
I have pretty good drivabilty using the AFM based chips so I can only imagine how it will run with the MAF chips. If needed, I can skew the MAF voltage with the ARC-2 to take out dips and lags. I'm currently logging the input signal (not the MAF, actual voltage input to the DME) and already found that the ARC-2 is pretty accurate in tuning, within .1 volt. It has about a 2 volt span too. With this knowledge I can tell John my acutal voltages to produce the correct maps on the MAF chips.

wow, thats alot of stuff. I know Vitesse's kit has less than that but he makes good useable horsepower. You need to cross the dyno charts and see where the power comes on and how flat the torque curve is. You also need to think of what your use of the car is and do you need that much power.

The one problem I see with the Vitesse kit is the other things you must purchase to make the power that John makes with his kits. I don't know exaclty what is involved with his kits but I do know that they don't come with exhaust or wastegate, if I'm wrong correct me. Those two are pretty pricey. I think you have more of a guarentee when you go with Vitesse because there are many out there with this kit with tons of tech support and good power. But it is all about how much money you can spend. I would call each company...Lindsey, Guru, Vitesse and ask them questions about their kits. I didn't even know that Danno at Guru had a kit like that. That is quite a bit of money so call each of them and see which one like better.

That's for the 363 kit. The 340 kit is the the 363 kit without the cam.
My bust. Lindsey no longer has the Kokeln 363 kit on their website.......

Okay to the point, there are a few issues. I assume that you want to add a kit, and install and tune it yourself. I also assume that you have an engine in condition to handle 350 "ish" in hp. That said, consider a few things.
1. If you have a problem, will someone be there to help. Dave, and Mike Lindsay have given me super support when needed, as has John at Vittesse. I haven't dealt with Guru, and won't because there is a post just a couple near this that fills multiple pages of unsatisfied Guru customers. Most of those never got, or got bad, products after paying for them. At the same time as the posts in question, the owner is posting in the OT area, and not responding to customers. Your money, you decide if you want to risk 2-3 k on that company. Speed Force Racing is also competitive and delivers good service.
2. The Vittesse kit is pretty well known on this board as being one of the best in terms of quick spool up, and reliability. The chips are designed for that. There is an assumption that your car could get out of perfect tune due to some other mod, and Vittesse doesn't want you to blow up your engine, while trying to get the ratios right.
3. As far as additional parts needed, I would email them both and ask them to compare the nec. parts to make their kits work for your specific application. I'm sure they will both be very helpful. (see above)
4. One of the key differences of the Vittesse kit is that it was developed by Vittesse, and not hybridized from another vendor.
5. For what it's worth Vittesse is a site sponsor. I try to support the guys that support the community from which I get so much free help. (That's just me. )
Keep in mind that all of this has a lot too do with the condition of the engine you want to mod, and what you want. 340 hp doesn't mean much if you have too much lag for your liking. That said spool up may not be important if you're looking for pure top end hp. Good luck with your search. You might do a Rennlist search on Vittesse, and you will see numerous posts of people getting ridiculously good results from Vittesse kits.

NAME: Shane's 1988 951
DATE TESTED: 10-Jan-2004
RESULTS: 362rwhp 345-lbft TQ (dyno guy printed wrong chart above)
DISPLACEMENT: 2.5L
TURBO: KKK K27/8
WASTEGATE: Tial 46mm
BOOST-CONTROLLER: Turbo XS
MAX-BOOST LEVEL: 20 psi
CYLINDER HEAD MODS: GURU Racing head
EFI/INTAKE MODS: APE-MAF, GURU v9 chips
INJECTORS: Siemens 52# injectors
EXHAUST: Borla cat-back
COMMENTS: This car ran out of injectors, so we turned up the fuel pressure. But this caused mid-range to be too rich but top-end was still getting leaner and learn. We'll try again with 65# injectors and MORE boost!!!
This was taken from his web site. There is another chart were at 16psi they got 306rwhp.

ehall, there is alot of good stuff in your post;
as to whether or not I need that much power, no, coming from an n/a 944, I'd probably be more than happy with 280rwhp (hell, it would be quite a jump just to go to a 951, but if I have the money....I mean, everyone likes more power)

The Lindsey 340 is using their lower end turbo. Add a bigger turbo and make
more power. They have tons to choose from.
Here is a customer car running a Super 75/8 without a good exhaust.
394.6 rwhp at 19psi. Add a P trim, 3 or 4 inch exhaust and more power at the same boost.
