Default Part# for 3L crank?

I just came across a 3L crank (need to measure to make sure), with a different part#.

The part # on the crank is: 944 103 7R

Can anyone shed some light on this? Cranks I have seen have a part #:
944 102 015 XX where XX is: 09, 11, 13 or 15..

Did you ever confirm this as a 3.0L crank... I have a 3.0L and 2.5L crank, and am having trouble visually telling them apart. The one I suspect as the 3.0L has this part number (944 103 7 R) on it as well.

That's odd, i have also both 2,5 & 3.0 versions and i think it's really easy to see the difference.

Upper one is a 2,5 crank, lower 3,0 one

Your eyes must be better than mine... I guess if I look hard enough I can see the difference, but it's not something I would consider "obvious". I just would really like to have 100% confidence before I ship the wrong one out... and the only way I know to do that is to check the part #.

Look at the rod journals, the distance on the outside - or make a straight line on a main journal make a straight line on the rod journal and measure that distance (stroke)

Back from the dead, since I now own this crank and am curious since I can’t find 944 103 7R in the PET or on the Internet. Maybe it’s super special.

Remember 1 of the 2 had a weird number that I couldn't find a reference for anywhere...?

Those numbers cast into the crank(s) are casting numbers, not part numbers. You won't find them referenced.
