Default Curious - oil pan gasket repair

just got [what i consider] a crazy estimate for the oil pan repair here in the Dallas area.
i know most of us work on our own cars, but i'm tried of doing it in the Dallas heat. what are others seeing for the bill on this?? nothing else was being done - gasket, labor, oil, filter.

if you haven't, contact user "SeanR", he's a Porsche shop in DFW specializing in 928 but pretty sure he does 944 too.

thanks for the recommendation. i also use Clown Shoe for 944 turbo work. Phil used to work for Stuttgart here in Addison, but now is more race oriented i guess you'd say. the other shop is between my house and my office, so I thought i'd have them quote it.
i will drop Sean a message.

Might try out Zims. They do repairs as well as sell parts.

The shop with the crazy high estimate is probably leery of all the things that can go wrong on that job... or maybe they just want you to go away.

they just performed $2000+ worth of work on my 993, so i doubt they want me to go away.

that oil pan should have been much easier to access from the factory. stupid *** design.

Zims is another good option. i've bought many 951 parts from them, but i haven't had them perform any service.

Seans first 944 OPG was on my car. I helped so cost will be skewed. He does great work.
