Pearl white 951 VINs
In case anyone is still keeping track, here's another one on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=4504219608. Another high VIN, but still pearl white. I think this sighting means that we can say goodbye to the "there's only six" myth.
Still a nice looking color -- even in those photos it looks fantastic!

Unless someone has been logging the VINs you cannot say that. It could be that they are being sold more often than other colors because of the perceived rarity.

This one is 7270, with no fuchs, and single owner who lived in Fresno (a couple of us went to check it out last night). Somone recorded 6612 (the Georgia junked car on eBay), we have 6601 (deep_purple's current car), and 6569 was on sale earlier last month (in San Francisco, no fuchs). The other recent sightings are -- Baltimore, Michigan and Mountain View PCA-owned car with pearl white fuchs. So unless one of these three sightings is false or a repeat, there's more than 6.
BTW, in case anyone is actually interested in the car, we did some checking up.

I think so too - there simply have to be more than six. It's not a common color in any event and that's a pretty good price (at least right now), but I the more I hear about these, the less I think the paint code is as rare as some think.
Gorgeous color though!

I'm bringing this thread back up to the top, b/c I just sighted another: Pearl White for sale on Autotrader. This one is located in Tennessee with VIN 7503 -- which makes it 5 confirmed separate VIN, plus 3 additional possible sightings w/o VIN. This one is nice -- it's got the pearl white fuchs!

A friend of mine in Menlo Park, CA has one. This is a factory non sunroof pearl white. Maybe it is the non sunroof cars that have a build of only 6.

I know of a pearl white one in Western N.C. with Fuchs,it was sitting beside a shack in the middle of nowhere. I found the guy that owned the shack and he said he was changing the trans. out but the next time I returned it was gone. I think you are all wrong anyways.......It's the red ones that only 5 were made.
That one in Autotrader looks like Alpine White to me.

Go get VINs guys!
I've always found it hard to tell Pearl White from Alpine White in photos -- it's one of those colors you really have to see in person.

I know there is one in upstate S.C. It has a set up Fikse FM10s on it with burgandy interior. I have some pics of it and he carries all of this documentation suposably showing only 6 built.

My father and I looked at a pearl white 86 with fuchs and burgundy interior in Mn back like in 1990. It was factory paint. I have seen others, is there really only 6?

While I'm keeping track, here's number 6 in Michigan (VIN 7512 on autotrader ).
I'm not sure how the story originated, but every seller of a Pearl White seems to know it. The story is that 6 Pearl White turbos (with color-matche fuchs and burgandy interior) were brought to the US as promotional cars. I believe it was to promoto the introduction of the 944 Turbo.
But we've seen far too many for these to be only 6 -- and surprising number up for sale if it's a truly desirable color. It's possible that some of these cars are after-factory repaint or ordered later with Pearl White (paint code L0A9). I personally think all of the VIN are too high for the cars to be one of the promotional ones....

I know of another one
The owner of the company that I work for owned a pearl white 951 or S2 in 1992. It purchased factory new so I know that it wasn't a repaint. It had the slotted wheels, however, not the fuchs. Pearl white really looks awesome on these cars though.
