Why not? I have them and they work much better than the stock setup. What is your experience with them?

They are the gt-racing ones (buckets and lenses). I glassed the cut out for the one headlight and installed a CATZ combo driving/fog light assembly to the stock harness. Low beam uses the 55w fog and the highbeams use the 100w driving light.

Because I've had to deal with them on dmoffitt's old car, and when I had them on my car. The fitment blows, the lenses are crap, there is no good way to attach the lenses or the buckets, you end up having to get the damn welder out. Attaching any kind of light to the inside requires equally as much fabrication. Lighting output is worse than stock, etc, etc. Rage2 made comments similar to this about his setup a few years ago. Looking back either going with IceShark's kit or going straight to my current HID setup (or running overwatts in the euro driving lights with them and fogs on all the time) would be the only options. The GT buckets are just trash IMO.

But I do like GT's other products.

Unless you are completely stripping your car and going with fiberglass panels, the weight savings from the headlights is not worth the effort.

I disagree. The space left over by removing the linkage bar, linkage, headlights and motor is substantial. It removes weight were it has most impact on the cars dynamics. It also gives you the opportunity to use newer lighting technology than the dated 7" sealed beam. If I had to do it again, I would do it in a heartbeat.

"Dated" sealed beams can provide a substancial amount of light output. I've played with overwatts in the euro driving lights, "upgraded" Iceshark type kits, HID's in the the GT Racing buckets, HID's in the fog light locations, and Hella 90mm Rally H9's in the GT buckets (i'm sure there were probably a few other itinerations somewhere in there, but I cant recall). It removes a marginal amount of weight, something you will certainly NOT feel a difference from. You'd be better off with an agressive alignment. I'm not speaking out of my ***, I've played with the options and I can honestly say unless you want to spend the big bucks and put hella 90mm HID's in buckets or your bumper, in terms of looks and lighting output sticking with the stock sealed beams is the best route.

I just dont use the pop ups at all. I think they make the car look dated. I have euro fogs with Hella H-3's and they light up the road just fine. On deserted roads I incorporate the foglights and they work perfectly.

For the head lights you can just get the euro conversion and put H 4 pretty cheap its like 30 40 bucks for the houseing. And 20 bucks for the light bulbs max fancy ones...

Hey Derek,

Yes I did and it is the single best mod Ive done to any car Ive had. It works so well its as if it was designed to have this engine all along. Dynoed 353rwhp and 348tq with just headers and the Linsey 3.5" cat back. Just bought some AFR heads and a cam for an add 100hp but I will not get them in before I update the ring and pinion for a taller final drive on the 968 gearbox we are running.

Cheers,

Jpr

reno808, are you talking about the popups, or the euro fog lights?
