$5600 for less than 10% gain in hp???? NOPE
With $5,600 added to a car that is already making 400hp I better be getting about 600hp to the wheels when I am done.

Todd, you are paying for a lot more than HP gain with JME parts. The throttle response is said to be phenomenal.

OK - don't flame me, just thinking/writing out loud....
What about a CF or FG cover for the 951 like the 968 has. Obviously it wouldn't add any HP, but it sure would look nice.

I would be interested in a manifold if it looks as good as the one pictured. I don't mean that it has to be perfect, but I have seen a lot of ricer's that have shoddy pieces attached on the outside and on the inside. I'm trying to avoid that.
What about a manifold that had a minature evaporator core behind the throttle body that pulls the intake charge down to unheard of temps with the a/c compressor engaged? I'm sure the power gain would be less than the power loss from the compressor sucking power off of the crank, but hey, it would be exotic!

at $800 with improved power or atleast a shift of some power to the low end it would be low on my priotity list but it would be on the list. $800 is still less than what other tuners are selling their manifolds for.

Winslow, all I know for sure is that I have seen red hot glowing turbos come off the track. I have also seen boiling brake fluid on cars with no heat shield. I dont know that I have seen it with the heat shield with the exception of just plain cooking the brakes :>)

The Price of teh part WAS 12000 DEM many yeasr ago when the living cost and parts cost was cheaper.
It doesent matter what you put in your car. even the biggest Turbo will not make good power with the restrictive stock intake. Noway you can make drivebale 600HP with the stock intake.

Matt, I see your point, but still, $5,600 is a bit much. For that money with a high end or even a VATN turbo, you would have almost instant boost and a lot of it.
NZ, yes. I just have to get my friend to look at the stock intake so he can get an idea of cost. I will also bring up IC pipes and J pipe to him as well.
However, this route would be using the stock intake as a mold. Therefore, you would proabbly not see gains, unless the CF disipates more heat, etc. You are really only getting the CF look.
For those that want this as a performance gain, i.e. longer/shorter runners, bigger plenum, etc, then it would be a "custom" job and require a special mold made and therefore much more expensive.
I told him if it can't be done, using the stock as a mold, for in the $500 range, don't bother as I figured not many people would be willing to spend more than that.
For those that want the look and performance, he would just need specs and measurements of what you want, then make the mold from there.
Once again, until he can see and/or get his hands on the numbers/measurements, it is all speculation. It's not a matter of what he can do, it is a matter of how cheap can he do it. Like I said, he builds high end projects for Disney, Universal Studios, etc. so this is no biggie for him.

Just a note, why pay $500 just for looks if you can get gains AND looks for $800...
The market for a $500 dress up piece under the hood is probably even lower than the market for the monster $5.600 JME piece.
