Looks very similar in shape to the stock manifold, with the exception that the actual runners are shorter and there is an airbox where the runners used to be. Looks like you could almost modify a stock manifold to produce a mold. As far as resins go, the automotive manufactureres are using Zytel resin for lots of intakes these days and it holds up fine.

Temperature resistance w/carbon fiber is all in the epoxy. The CF is essentially electrically Chared polyester. The secret to withstanding the heat/ pressure is in the curing process with the correct epoxy and vacuum bagging / heated curing time. It isn't as easy as handlaying the fiber and
letting it cure. I am presently prototyping a 5.4 DOHC intake hybrid for a Mustang Cobra transplant. Which is both Carbon Fiber and aluminum, I would be willing to invest the time to make one for the 951. It is on my list to make, however I was uncertain of the market, besides myself. It would be several weeks before I complete the Ford intake. Meantime, I will monitor link to see interest.

i have seen that manifold on here before. i believe there are two different tuners that make them, but they are expensive as all get-up. i think over 1500 for sure, and maybe closer to the 2000 range. i'm sure if you do a search you will come up with who makes them.

Well, if no one minds the intake being made from the stock intake as a mold, it wouldn't be that hard or expensive to make.
I sent the pic to my friend and he said he would just need to look at my intake and then could come up with a price. Hard part is getting him to do things like this as his company mostly does big projects, i.e stuff for Disney, Universal Studios, etc.
I am always asking him about getting into the automotive market but to make any kind of profit he would have to make and sell high volumes. Unless it is a favor for me after a few beers

How about $5600 for Milledge's barrel valve CF intake. According to him, $5600 gets you 30 bhp on a 400 hp race motor.
"Our dynamometer tests show that, in a 400bhp 944T engine, the barrel valve manifold system is worth 30bhp. In track testing, drivers report that boost response is much quicker, nearly like a normally aspirated engine when in the power band."
I'd be willing to bet that Porsche Motorsports manifold (CF and Unobtainium) would be the same if not more $$$. Good luck.

I dont think 500 degrees would do it. IIRC, you can boil the brake fluid with the heat of the turbo (with no heat shield). I would love to have one, it if provided HP gains and looked good. If it only looks good, then to hell with it, I have a freshly PC'ed manifold for that!
