Thanks for the tip Dave because Jim had to redo the greasing; so he could move them by hand with a lot of effort...very tight but should be fine now.

The old tranny is out(anyone need a smooth non LSD tranny $450 + ship). The rear suspension is back in the car and the rear Koni 3012 coil over shocks are in. Jim and a few friends are going to get the ride height close today, then next week the car will get aligned. After we get the 89 LSD intalled, engine refresh, last of some items removed - corner balance.

Here are the last of the photo's for a while, I've bored everyone enough. The dash will be put together tomorrow, well to the point of waiting for new gauges when we do the engine in June - I'll post a few pics of the refresh and start up. Jim and a couple of friends were busy today.

Ride height is very close but the car needs to be aligned. The harnesses are in and bolted, small thin light weight aluminum panel(s) on the floor and doors,,,on yeah the window net. I have to get myself down and work my butt off in June. First full view of the car in a while...

Do you know what model steering wheel that is? I bought a Momo and the rim is thinner than I'd like and that one looks alot more like what I want.

Dave, there is a pic of the bag on one of the earlier pages with the name on it...we got the old one and a brand new one from the owner of the racecar I'm helping to part.

Bret,

Not that I'm not pleased you've given my roll bar a much nicer home than it had, but been meaning to ask why you didn't opt for a full cage?

All the time and effort you guys are spending on this project, it seems to beg for more protection/stiffness, even if you aren't planning to actually race it.

I love this thread.

Howd you guys get that interior so clean?
You just use a heat gun to get all the gook off then spray paint it?

Don, we're already talking about it. Jim got the specs for the tubing, it will probably evolve to a full cage next year, after we get the fall DE events under our belt.

The interior came clean thanks to Jim and a couple of his good workers on the weekend and LOTS of MEK and plenty of respirators. That glue was tough they said. AFter that, the interior was DA sanded with 240 grit, down to 400, spot primed with primer/filler, then shot with 2 coats of industrial urethane white(Imron). Jim has done an absolutely outstanding job on the car,,beautiful. He is the man when it comes to taking out and reinstalling dashes. That dash is the burgandy dash the car came with, removed the air bag and had a local shop recover it for $100! I'm up here helping to strip a race car, send him the parts that we buy or get free for my efforts, he installs. The engine is next month, so I get to earn my extra keep then

He is blessed with the fact that Jason Burkett and Paragon are just about 5 miles down the road from his business address!!! Jason has been a great help on the suspension.

Jim,,I know you'll read this so come on in here and take your due for an OUTSTANDING JOB!!!

something until the Carrera GT / GT3 & GT3RS they had forgotten about.
I'll bet that little puppy is a blast to drive..
