After doing the Nissan Quest alternator mod my tension rod looked stretched to the max just like Tom's. It would probably hold forever but it seems sketchy to me. Used my crappy welding skillz to make an extension for the tension rod. I found some steel tubing from McMaster Carr that has the exact ID to fit the factory tension rod OD.
I'd make it just a little bit shorter next time but this seems a lot more rigid now. I can post details if anyone want to replicate this.

It is my recollection that the fuel injector loom goes on top of the fuel rail and is covered by the plastic housing. I do not believe there is a separate clamp for that part of the harness. The large adel clamp is on the rubber snorkel and is attached at the rear most intake manifold bolt. The snorkel fits through the firewall near the cam tower and the boost line goes through it as well. The other adel clamps are for the battery cables on the bellhousing and maybe on the cables to the alternator and starter. The engine harness has the plastic omega clips that are long gone or broken most likely.
It has been a while since I have seen the harness, but hope this helps some.

I'm on to changing the belts/rollers/water pump, and fixing a few leaks. I couldn't get the balance shaft gear off the crank and just discovered I left my puller in my old garage. So rather than venture out in hopes of finding a store that is both open and had a puller, I made this. It's just a short length of 1/4" steel bar I had sitting around, with two holes to bolt it to the pulley, and a threaded M10 hole in the middle so I can screw the bolt/fender washer into the crank snout and press off the pulley. Worked like a charm and was free.

Tried a half dozen screw drivers and numerous other options.. finally got a drill bit just slightly larger than the hole on the bottom flange.. slid right in

My projects have not been near as ambitious, but satisfying in the end. Finally took the drivers door mirror off to fix the motor. Found a mirror motor assembly in an older Volkswagen that matched up with the too expensive Porsche replacement. With a little modification I now have a power mirror again. And here is where I feel like I hit the jackpot... I decided to finally tackle the A/C after nearly a year and a half of fixing everything else. The gauges said it was empty and I figured "Great, a leak!". Put the vacuum on if last night and let it set overnight and it held! Had a couple cans of Freon so put them in and I now have cold air! I may be able to drive this during Texas summer after all. Not as cold as Tom's, but it did get down to 44 degrees. Just wondering, what is the Freon capacity for a stock system converted to 134?

congrats. I need new rear shocks. Not sure if I should go Koni, Bilstein or KYB. Heard KYB are not the best choice but I’m not doing much spirited driving at the moment.

It's a good time to pull the trigger on koni. The inserts are on sale on the koni website. $157 each.
