Kevin:

BTW, I also have a Bursch test pipe that came with the car. I had it dyno'd at Curry's in Ashburn VA about 18 months ago. They have a Mustang dyno, which gives a lower RWHP reading than the Dynajet machines, but it came out at 200 RWHP. A search on the archives will show varying estimates on how much drivetrain loss occurs from the flywheel, but Matt Curry said for his Mustang setup to figure about 20% loss, so that would mean my car with Europroducts chips (DME/KLR) and Bursch test pipe was about 250 HP at the flywheel, or about the same as a Turbo S.

Renn... I could hug you... THAT is exactly what I was looking for and more. Those are the first two mods I will have (even the right chips!) and I was wondering if anyone had dyno'd with them. Perfect!

Now, I'm guessing the 20% loss was to also factor in the dyno's pessimism? I've never actually been told anything but the standard 15%. Granted all cars and clutches are different, but is that 5% based on something or a guesstimate? Either way, thank you so much for that!! I owe ya one!

Kevin:

That's right, 15-17% is what I usually see given for the Dynajet dyno's and it's recognized that the Mustang will give a lower RWHP reading. I don't have any reason to doubt Matt Curry's number of 20%; I figure he knows his equipment. He seemed to be impressed by the numbers from my car -- and if he wasn't, believe me Matt would have tried to sell me some go-fast goodies to make the numbers better!

HAHAHA I'll believe it... just making sure it was for drivetrain AND dyno loss, lol

Renn, are you planning on attending the 944Fest in July? Either way, I'm hoping to have a gathering of locals earlier in the summer, around May or June. I'm hoping you can attend.

Kevin:

I'll pass on the 944fest; that time of year will be too busy. We're going to Germany in late June to take delivery on the Cayenne S. In July I'm going to try to do back-to-back track weekends at the new Shenandoah Circuit at Summit Point. PCA Potomac is there in late July, and the Audi Club has the new circuit the following weekend. May is fairly open, except for PCA Potomac at Summit the weekend of 22-23.

Chris:

Didn't you tell me you were the one who taught Matt how to make $$ on aftermarket parts sales?

Nope was thinking about it could have had them for 120$ from them since I used to know someone but I heard a lot of things about there chips not doing much and running lean so I didn't get it. Once I save some money up I'm going to get Guru chips I believe they are one of the best on the market up with Steve R's chips.
