I have been thinking about this and I am going to have to put a hold on posting a price for a group buy for the moment. I don't want to get in hot water with John D. or Tim at SFR for that matter.

I will be let you all know what the outcome is.

so YOU'RE the Chris I've heard about!! I've heard some really good things about you, and that was OUTSIDE the 'list! A Porsche rep by the name of Tim Keeler spoke of you guys at the DC Auto Show this past January.

I'll have to stop by IMA sometime and have a chat with you all once I get the 951.

Apparently this site has nothing to say about the 944 Porsche series

I thought I would clarify a few misconceptions. The first one is that we sell the Fabspeed 2.5" to 3" testpipe(because it is not a true 3" testpipe since it reduces right near the downpipe)..Actually it is the same one that Lindsey sells as well as Powerhaus and others. It is a nice piece and we looked into making these ourselves but it cost more then buying them from Joe(at least until we get our mandrel bender). So then we came up with the idea of modifying it to be a true 3" testpipe and we are the only ones doing this and we are the only ones that have this for sale(as well as our distibutors). Then we built a 3" downpipe that uses factory crush rings.Again we are the only company building and selling these.Every other exhaust,header,intake,intercooler,etc..... component we sell is made in-house.

Hey Chris, do you ever need any weekend help at the shop?? I'm not sure exactly where I'm working over the summer just yet (back at BDM in Manassas, or at the F.R. AutoZone, or local shop) but I'm really hoping I can find a place to intern for. I would love to work for a few saturdays or even a week. I could take off to work for a bit to learn some of the Porsche specifics.

I would be more than happy to send a letter and resume over to you and in fact already have one prepared; how convenient!

Please let me know if it might be possible for the summer, or if you know of a NoVa Porsche specialist that might be willing to take me in.

Thanks a lot, Chris!

First off thanks to Tim for clarifying the issue. I have only seen two that have come from SFR and they looked no different installed then the Fabspeed units I have installed many of. I knew you did quite a bit of fabricating. I guess I am not paying attention. My apologies.

Kevin- no weekends. That would get in the way of racing/track time and would be a huge problem! Give me a call during the week sometime and we can talk about the possibilities.

I have one of the fabspeed units (that i picked up from lindsey as well as the full 3" exhaust), i was very impressed with it's quality. I have considered upgrading to one of tim's full 3" units, but i'll need to see what it takes re: the turbo / flanges / etc... i _love_ my 4:1 header from SFR, if his downpipes are anything like that, well, you can't go wrong.

Do you (or anyone else) happen to have any dyno figures for the Europroducts chips?? I'm curious as to what they can or can't do number wise.

Anyone happen to have a spare testpipe and pair of Guru chips lying down somehwere?! LOL

Danno, if you're reading this, I'm probably going to buy some chips from you later this summer!

A group buy would be sweet....I'm trying to figure out what to do since my car doesn't currently have a cat and since I am likely headed to CA of replacing it with a good one and am thinking about just upgrading the rest of the exhaust at the same time. I wonder if there is any chance on a group buy including the cat back as well???

Keep us updated!

Kevin:

My 951 came with Europroducts chips from the previous owner. I replaced them with Guru chips after almost two years, primarily due to concerns that Europroducts chips reportedly tend to run the car lean at higher RPMs, and since I track my car a lot I decided the Guru chips would be better.

For everyday street use I think the Europroducts chips are a great value, and if you already purchased them just put them in and enjoy!
