Really? Sure sounds like a lot of psi—like at the limit for 30yr old hoses and compressor. But sure, why not; might as well find what leaks and what’s just about to

nah, on a really hot day AC pressures can hit 250 psi or more on the high side.
you might find out if your o rings are good though

Testing the entire system to 300 psi may reveal a wink link that was not meant to be exposed to this high of pressure...also, know that high pressure gas leaks are virtually undetectable by the human eye...and can have serious ramifications to one's body if contacted.

Forgot to update: my buddy put the pressure on and a clear leak at the condensor--crack right where it attaches to the hose I just replaced. Probably from taking off that hose lol

I guess there's no way to fix that soft aluminum looking line. New condensors are big $$--for me at least. Maybe I'll find a good used one locally.....

While finding a good used one may be a more budget friendly option, a new parallel flow condensor from Griffiths may be a great option as a way to improve cooling performance while replacing a faulty part. Current pricing is $540, similar to other options. Just a thought.
