If you are not tracking this car, you might want to just stick with stock brakes. I have never had a fade or any inclination that brakes were anything less than capable and I am a pretty aggressive driver.

Good advice, and it looks like I'd need to convert to new spindles, which means ball joints too and then before you know it I'd have the car down to a shell.
Tom, those adapters are for early OBs 928's conversion to S4, not the mid-years (S models), with which you will need a different steering spindle/knuckle and suspension bits for later S4 brakes.

Right, basically a whole front suspension swap is required. Going to wait on that until such a time it presents itself as necessary. I have more pressing issues to deal with.
Progress so far today - I just spent a small beach cottage's worth of money on service items. New coolant hoses everywhere, brakes, power steering lines, uprated rear coupler, thermostat, bunch of new seals, ignition wires and cap and rotor and wire set and coil...
I'll file this under the heading "every Porsche is at least a $20,000 car....".
New Bosch rotor - cap etc all on order. Interesting that the molding thickness on the new one is bit different than the one that was removed. New Bosch one looks more stout.
Did some poking around and the blue soft line leaking from the brake master reservoir appears to go to the clutch slave.

It's commonly called the "blue hose." It's often called a lot of other things that won't get through the filter on here.
I would suggest getting a proper replacement, not just some generic "suitable tubing."
Since you are in SoCal, 928 International is a good place to start. They know their stuff.
Another good source is Roger at 928s R Us. He's in Texas, so it might take a bit longer to get parts.

Thanks Joe, appreciate the response. I actually talked to Tom briefly yesterday and will be running over there on Monday, and will add proper blue hydraulic line to my list.
Do I need to drop the clutch master cylinder for sure did swap this line out? If I do need to do that when this be time to simply replace the clutch master as well because it sat for a while?
Just for grins, and feeling lucky on Fathers Day after the best hug ever from my 10yr old I made a jumper for the fuel injection relay. No dice, but still feel pretty lucky.
